Pretty good price for an excellent phone

i haven't had any problems with phones4u and find them better than the carphone warehouse group. But hey, to each his own.

mine got delivered today - came unlocked!

how comes its only on orange! you can get it for £20 a month to but on a crapper tarrif. heat added though

I now have my N97 mini and am really happy with it. I would say to utilise its features you do need some internet bundle and after a short call to Orange they have put me on 500mb for £5 (it's just less but when the VAT goes back up it'll be a fiver).

Also be careful as Phones4u/Orange do put you on the two months free evening/weekend internet and if you don't cancel it then it automatically will stick £5 on your tariff until you do (cancelled mine when i added the 500mb on).

Edit: Forgot to say it's not as Mini as I had thought it would be and is probably similar size (maybe a fraction smaller) than the iPhone

I have had problems with them.

But that was regarding cashback.

Never had problems with Phones 4U, been with them for many years now.

I'm not to sure about the online Phones 4U deals, would rather be dealt with in store.

After going through two N97's in 5 months i urge everyone to stay away from them. They are THEE worst phones i have ever had the misfortune to come across. A quick check on the Nokia website forums will show you the problems this phone has, both the mini and full size. Beware.

Exactly why my recent phone deal became super cold lol

You can get a HTC Hero for around the same contract.

Android > S60v5
Capacitive > Resistive

I'm someone who made the switch and would never go back. Although the camera on the n97 is much better than any htc phone.

OH has similar opinion. Looks stunning but looks can be decieving.

I have the original N97, not happy with it all. Definitely would NOT recommend this dumbed down version.

I think as long as you know what you want, and aren't a sucker for a sales pitch, then they are a decent company. If you find it hard to say no though you might end up hating them...
#17
I actually really like my N97, each to their own I suppose..
#18
The worst place to shop in the whole country! I hate the way it is set up for sales people to pounce on you, if I ask then I'm interested...if I don't...LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!!!!!

Small tip for all of you wantign to pick up this "bargain"
N97 is known to have serious faults

some of which include

Locking

The Complete Failure of the Touch screen This can be a very Harsh thing to deal with No calls Can be disconnected after you have to slide open to answer

Restarting on its own
This is whent he phone has too much to do (yeah i know but there is no open applications or nothing but yet the phone still restarts itself ) and just completly stalls and restarts

I would also not say that an 18 months contract for a nokia N97 is a good contract no matter what any one says this is a bargain website if you are looking for a good deal this is in no way a good deal

I am able to get from T Mobile N97 by calling the retention department and asking to speak to a manager and just asking for a better deal many times you will get better than this deal and also with free internet

Deal is good if you dont want to be bothered to ask your current provider for a better deal and its bad if you can already get better why be stuck in an 18 months contract for a BAD phone
No Sorry but nice find OP but bad deal
#20
Ok, whilst I can agree with previous posts about this being a bad phone, this is not such a bad deal.

However, if ou are technically minded and can use the internet this is a good deal. If you flash the firmware to v2 then most of these issues are resolved.

Now unfortunately that will invalidate your operator/provider warranty, but you still have 2 years manufacturers warranty with Nokia, so not a complete loss.

I have flashed 2 original N97s to the new firmware recently and they are now fantastic and very reliable phones.

Here's a phrase you may find helpful: Just browsing.

This magical phrase is fully compatible with all shops on the high street.

Oh I know, its dreadful when you go in a store where theres people there to sell you things, and they try to do their job of selling you things in as helpful manner as they can, just awful.
the things you have to put up with eh?
