I noticed some of the books are also matched at Google Play, I have a Nook but find backup of the ePubs much easier from Google than Nook.
Great deal - I bought a full year's supply of books on Nook's similar deal last year.

Had been waiting for them to email me about it this year, but they haven't sent anything so thanks OP for the heads-up :)
Lots of great books here. I bought 17. Oops!

Cheers OP. Just ordered a case and international charger to go with the bargain Nook HD+ 16GB I got on here on Sunday for my mum!
The official cases for the Nook are fabulous quality and a no brainer at this price.

As has already been said though, they have been this price for ages now so it's not really a deal anymore.
kashhassan94
Thanks very much for the heat people! I bought the 'groovy stand' one for the hd+, and I'd recommend that to anyone buying a case. Is it worth getting an extra cable or not?

Yes as the Nook HD+ has a proprietary socket so you cannot get third party cables.
I paid £15 for an official nook case and it is well worth it, my nook is in pristine condition despite me chucking it in my bag and it getting thrown around a fair bit! defo worth it at £5! +1 :)

depends on the magazine.

I can think of some technical stuff that I'd appreciate having the old issues.

Make magazine for example.

edit - Some magazines just recycle stuff anyway so getting two years worth will give you all you need to know.

Not convinced about the gaming/film titles but I can see that the cookery/gardening stuff would be worth while.

Deals over, back to a less palatable £39.99 now.
Very good price. I have just recently finished reading these books. Some of the best books I have read. I watched the latest episode of the TV show last night and was confused in parts because I thought certain events had already happened in the TV show but they were what I had read in the books
DylanJones95
Amazing price for some very good books if you like the tv series you'll love these a lot better IMO

I found them as interesting as a dogs bottom (and I love the TV show) but each to their own.

Has anyone ever tried to read on a nook HD plus?

Having recently bought a Nook Simple Touch Glowlight, I thought the 'Industriell Stripe Stand In Carbon' case would be worth having, as it includes a useful stand. It is OK, but there is nothing to keep the case closed (to protect the Nook), there is no pocket for the manual and, when the stand is in use, the weight of the Nook makes it droop to one side. I'm not too impressed with the design - OK for a fiver but a joke at anything approaching the alleged 'original price' of £34.95. Frankly, the case I bought from Argos at £2.99 does the job better, although it has no stand. There are a number of similar cases on eBay for less than a fiver too.

Just bought a Nook 16gb hd for £69 today from Very with £30 discount and then bought one of these covers for fiver...hope all is ok lol

That's what I did, Very took 2 payments out then decided to revoke the £30 discount without telling me, then 4 operators said it was a mistake and it would be reversed, it wasn't.

I gave up in the end and now I'm waiting to close the account

And watch your account, when I was in credit they decided to start taking £5 out of my bank account every month anyway, just in case.
Yep, still trying to close the account

I gave up on the £30, you can only be told so many times that you'll get it.

I like them but wondering whose bright idea was putting 2 clips on every single cover made by B&N when Nooks are capable of holding 4 clips?

The whole device dangle dangerously from B&N cases which does not inspire confidence. With time the clips will lose firmness. If one plastic clip breaks after a fall then the cover will be useless.

Elastic corners - not a massive fan of them, but at least they hold the Nook more securely than 2 clips.

http://djiqd110ru30i.cloudfront.net/upload/322343/project/42193/full_728_42193_BattyNookCover_2.jpg

No surprise that B&N is struggling with falling sales every quarter even though they have a fantastic ereader. They lack simple common sense. Bunch of Idiots...

Thanks for the heads up, was about to get this one.

And my strong advice to you is YES, go ahead and get one, despite the well-intentioned advice above.

I have had this case for over six months and can thoroughly recommend it. Those two clips hold the device very securely and I never have any worries about it falling out. Also, as someone else comments above, the cover has a lovely luxurious feel to it, like soft suede leather. It has a very handy magnetic clip which holds the cover securely closed or open.

Well worth much more than £5. Go for it! ;)

(I previously tried a case with those ugly corner straps and hated it.)
Ah damn, now I'm conflicted.

Listen!! Do not be conflicted! Spend a measly £5 on this and I promise you will not be disappointed. If you are, feel free to curse me unto my grave. X)

I think using matte screen guard should improve stylus experience..
Just received mine after 2 days via ups and I'm typing this with SwiftKey and the pen flows beautifully, I doubt you can get better for less I've had Wacom Bamboo then the other new knitted style ones and this is a lot better.

Its also a really nice size and perfectly weighted with a really premium matt black rubber-like feel

Very impressed

Still haven't got around to put Android on mine via flash card... I want to have a crack myself at by downloading cyanogen files from the forum.xda, but perhaps wishful thinking and i'm more likely to not find the likely 4hrs+ of pratting around and pay £25 for an image from somewhere. After a frustrating hour or so downloading various Nook software, and talking to their chat, it seems there is no way to read these on PC unless you have Windows 8.1. It doesn't state this anywhere in their help section, only saying they can be read on 'PC'. Just sent an email asking for a refund as there seems to be no way I can read them.

You can get your purchased Nook books from the uk store on the Nook app for android.
Will look at transferring them onto the PC from android when I finish work

Let us know if you can get a refund, as might be less hassle to refund and just get amazon to pricematch.
Apparently refunds of books are possible, within seven days, if not yet downloada.

Have given up waiting for Amazon to pricematch the other books I'm interested in, so it's Nook 16, Amazon 0... well, if you exclude the books they have price matched and the hundred plus from the 12 Days of Kindle sale that finished last night!

Nook 16?!
In addition to the ones you got Amazon to price match, sounds like you got an awful lot of reading material stored up! :)
An update in regards to getting the Nook books onto your pc...
I can download them onto a Nook app for android
On android they are stored in the following location...

From there you can copy to your PC.

I placed an order on the 17 dec for accessories for £30. Due to a glitch on the site that night the order was processed 7 times. I canceled 6 right away but got an email saying they could only cancel 4 and charged me £90. They sent me the return slips 2 weeks later and said to take it to an ups collection point. I told them the order was sent to my 82 year old mothers house in northern ireland and could they arrange a pick up as It was 2 orders placed by a glitch in their system. They emailed back to say that it was my problem if I didn't live in the uk. I rang ups myself and they collected the order the next day. I have as yet received no refund. They routinely ignore emails and I can't find a telephone number for them. Does anyone have a number fot nook uk?.

I'm in the same boat. Items tracked as returned to them on 3rd January, but still no refund. I've just tried Live Chat again and it's down, and sent off another email.
I finally got my refund.

Order a charger for Nook HD months ago and that was fine

tried ordering some cases a week or so ago and got an email back saying payment had failed / rejected credit card

tried again with debit card and same outcome

Mate also had exactly the same issue and tried via live chat to resolve it without any joy.

I guess the B&N tablet division is near dead now and they CBA anymore

great tablets for the money nevertheless

Had this issue originally when I checked out as guest. Tried again by creating an account and it went through ok.

I also emailed nook usa to complain but i got no reply. This has to be the worst customer servive ever.

SALE - Range of magazines inc. Total Film, Men's Fitness (per month) @ Nook - 99p

Magazine subscriptions can be hideously expensive. If you were planning on subscribing to one of these anyway (and, of course, you have a NOOK), this seems like a good deal.

? Followed the link and only a few magazines for £1 or less, all a bit obscure (St Louis Magazine, anyone?). Have had issues before following links from their emails which take me to the standard Nook landing page and not the deal. Most of them show as having a free trial (which Ive used before) but not seeing, say, Total Film, as £1 sub.

Not voted either way.

Here it is
Some real bargains - the cheapest you can usually get "The Week" for on a discounted subscription for 52 issues is £99.
£12 seems pretty good to me! Have some heat :)

Can you still buy these if you've installed the cyanogenmod software on your Nook HD+?

App is also available on Windows 8 and has a special offer running where you get five free book and magazines: http://www.hotukdeals.com/freebies/5-free-books-5-free-magazines-with-nook-app-windows-8-1-1742001
Sweet. Will go add heat to that in a sec. UPDATE - Must already have added heat.

I would love the charging dock for the Nook HD and HD+, but it's $39.95
before delivery.

Not spotted the dock before. Nice. Unfortunate that it makes little sense to grab a bargain tablet and then spend the cash saved (and more) on overpriced accessories and shipping. Especially as they'd only fetch a few quid when the time came to sell.

What really annoys me about the Nook UK site is the poor selection, compared to when you look at the number of different accessories and covers available on the US site. Barnes and Noble must consider us the poor relations.

Some really cool designs on the US B&N site. I think it simply comes down to B&N being a much bigger and more well known brand in the states, so they have the sales volumes to justify the range. On the positive side, i just ordered the 360 rotating case for £15 delivered. In the states it's $44.95. Result! England 1 USA Nil

Unfortunate that the proprietary HDMI cable is both expensive and only sold in the states, as i could really do with one. Final result, Score Draw: England 1 USA 1 :(
