Offer definitely works but you must make sure that you put Mon-Fri dates, 2 days apart up to end og August. BTW, P&O are now offering the same deal.
Rubbish, really confusing website and I cannot find anywhere to get the £39 offer from.
I've never had any trouble booking and even with the terms its still good price in my opinion.

No problem,

Interestingly I booked mine last night and the Dunkerque-Dover run came to 25 euros return (obviously I'll only go one way on that ticket!) and the fuel surcharge was added on!

Still, £39 for a return trip when Seafrance and P&O start at around £60 can't be bad! Plus the ferries on Norfolkline are much nicer!

Funnily enough I called them and asked them the same question, and the lady advised that you won't be penalised for doing this! So my trip to Dusseldorf in March comes to £38 return! :)

Yay! thanks for confirming this then! I've got 2000 mile trip from Scotland to Northern Europe in April.

It actually works out cheaper buying two same day return trips than buying 1 return trip within more than 24 hours apart.
I'm just wondering if I would get away with doing this...?
Will my ticket be valid on my way back if I didn't leave UK earlier that day...?
It is now DFDS not Norfolkline

Great - glad you got a bargain. I gather some have had problems with their website which is a real shame as this is a great deal. Hope you have a great holiday!

No its for travel on daytime crossing only - you can go for any length of time as long as you travel back on a day crossing. For slightly more money you can get night crossings for £109 - put PM GIVEAWAY in offer box for this

Tried that and came up with another crazy total. :?

In fact the website is now reporting that errors are occurring. Think I'll give it a miss. :whistling:

Not voted by the way, as could be a good deal if they sort their website out!

last couple of days to grab this offer
the day sailing is too long - night sailing is the way to go on this route
No not much to do. Cabin was included in price for night crossing. Large lounge and few people when we came back in daytime. But just take lots to read..........As I said previously, the time it takes, is the downside to this crossing
This is a hot deal. I wanted to take my girlfriend on a trip around Ireland but found car hire was too expensive (as I'm under 25) and the ferry was proving to be ludicrously expensive. Two people at £74 return total though makes this idea reality. Thanks a lot.

I noticed it says that the journey takes 7 hours. Anyone know what this is like? Is there much to do or should you get a cabin to keep yourself entertained?

Thanks!

Just booking on now. The only slight bug bear I have is that if you book from Ireland to UK its 124 euro and if you do UK to Ireland its £124.

Good deal still tho, voted hot.

Two in the morning is the best crossing time for most people from Manchester and further north, as it means you can drive to the ferry port avoiding any traffic congestion around major English cities. It also gets you to/through Brussels before the traffic is a problem there too.

Although for a trip to Adinkerke (where most English roll up tobacco comes from) you are best with a day return, as its only about a twenty minute drive from the Norfolk Line ferry terminal.
the £9 crossings are always coming up at like 0200 in the morning (
Just as a point of interest - their site also shows they are planning a new Scotland - Belgium service.

I've been travelling with them from day one. And you would not have found a more customer friendly company on the channel.
But as always people have to abuse the sysem and spoil it for everyone.
i.e. book the cheapest crossing and turn up at peak time. It is a freight ferry however the 3 new ferries have a seperate car and passenger decks.

I don't doubt you for a minute.

See post #10 though..........there's no way I'm paying £80 more than I have to, regardless of how "customer friendly" they are!

I live 205 miles from Dover but still indulge in a regular booze/ciggy run to Calais and on upto Adenkerke.

But Norfolkline can't compete on price:

P&O, 17/08/08, 2 adults 1 car, 10.55 outbound, 16.40 return, £39
SeaFrance, 17/08/08, 2 adults 1 car, 11.05 outbound, 18.00 return, £39.50
Norfolkline 17/08/08, 2 adults 1 car, 10.00 outbound, 18.01 return, £118

:w00t::w00t::w00t:

They have been cheapest by miles when I go, normally - with Speedferried beating them occasionally.

But I am over 500 miles from Dover - so leaving after the rush hour has passed in the early evening means night crossings are best for me.

They also cross quarter of an hour from Adinkerke.
I remember getting absoloutely slated for posting a deal like this a few years ago with P&O. "hotfrenchdeals.com" springs to mind.
But norfolkline are cheaper if you plan to stay in france and come back at a later date as i done this a couple of weeks ago.

If instead of doing it online - you can call them up and you MUST book a return then...

Call - 0870 060 1447 - Quote: "csma 1007" - (Which is the code it issues to CSMA members).

You pay a fiver more to call to book - but the discount is always over a tenner - and they recently quoted me a RETURN for 18 quid (booked two months in advance).

Its just a call to check to see how it compares with the online price.

There is actually no limit but 16 cartons is a recommended guideline amount. I'll stick with flying then as I havent seen a customs officer at gatwick for about 10 years unless there is a non-eu flight coming through (e.g. canaries).

There is no legal limit, but you try walking through customs with 50 cartons of fags and see if they let you in...

Trust me, if you bring in more than 16, they won't like it.

dunkirk is even nearer to belgium

my point exactly.
Prufrock;1867870
I hope you're taking enough people with you to allow you to bring back that many fags. The limit is 3200 per person (talking adults here) - 16 x200. You'd need to be a party of 4 adults to bring back that many cartons. Don't think they don't stop you when you come back - they do. I've been pulled over on the way back from France and had my car searched. We had exactly the right amount for the people in the car 2x3200 = 6400 fags (32 cartons of 200).

By the way, you'd be better off driving over to the Belgian border (Adinkirke) to buy your fags, as they are cheaper there than in France. It's not too far from Calais.

Very good deal as its valid through the summer unlike most newpaper deals which are for the off season. When using the offer code EBS I got a return fare for 2 adults, 2 infants and car for 28 quid return including a 9 pound fuel surcharge.
