Ordered one of these classic jackets tonight - normally sell for an RRP of between £145 and £150, but this has none of the risk of buying a cheaper fake on a particular auction site! Appreciate that there are a wealth of down jackets out there, but this one is favoured by many and is at a reasonable price when compared to the RRP and availability.

Its a classic for a reason. The Nuptse is a highly compressible down jacket with superior warmth-to-weight ratio for cold conditions.

This is by far one of the most versatile down jackets available, and can be worn alone or under a shell. The Nuptse features a sewn-through construction and double layer taffeta on the shoulders for durability. An adjustable Velcro® elastic cuff lets your wrists flex and bend without impeding your movement. Stow the whole jacket in the internal right zippered pocket for easy packing.

* The highest quality goose down, tested for loftiness, moisture resistance and ability to regain its loft after compression
* Zip in compatible; Zips into the inner zipper of our shells to create a single cold-weather jacket
* Pit zips allow body head to dissipate from your bodys core and armpits
* allowing increased ventilation to keep you cooler and more comfortable Double-layer taffeta on shoulders to resist abrasion from a pack or general wear and tear
* Highly compressible down jacket with superior warmth-to-weight ratio for cold conditions
* Internal zippered horizontal pocket for oblong personal items
* Jacket stows in internal pocket for easy carrying
* Taffeta emergency hood protects your head in unexpected weather
* Two hand pockets for easy-access storage of accessories and personal items
* Velcro® adjustable cuffs to fit over or under gloves to seal out drafts

WOW best price I have ever seen for a NORTH FACE puffa, some styles are still over £245

So many people are wearing fake NF jackets now. I remember a few years ago when I had mine hardly anyone had them.

These don't look like sales so I don't think the prices will go back up, well I hope they don't! I want to go to my local Blacks store to size up before purchasing one of these, might go for the sleeveless one. Some excellent bargains on this site!

Voted Hot.

My gf needs a new coat to keep her warm on the way to work in the mornings (she feels the cold really easily anyway), would this coat do the trick? I don't really know anything about these sort of coats, thanks.

These coats are like mini quilts. They'll keep anyone warm guaranteed!

I bought a barbour a while ago and I love it to bits, but as it has been exceptionally cold recently I was looking into getting a North Face Jacket. Is this one of the better ones? I like the style of it

The red is better :whistling:

I have the matt version and it is amazingly warm.

Bought mine in a sale at Blacks, the guy that served me told me he was quitting and gave me a 30% friends and family discount voucher, so an absolute bargain.

Only problem is that it's only cold enough to wear it 10 days a year!

Went to Blacks today to try it on. Very nice comfortable jacket. Large was a bit cosy so think I may go for XL. At least when I eat lots of pies it will still fit me ;o)

Anyway is the overall opinion that its worth £101 also is that site a proper site, ie it wont be a fake?

I can't understand why it's at minus! I've had one before it was trashed and IMO, then it's definetly worth the price for how good they are - depends on the individual though if you're willing to spend that much on a jacket? However, if it's cheaper elsewhere then I'd love to know as I certainly couldn't find one from a reputable source.

If you check out the North Face website, then they show that currently only 1 version is available - this one? I have not been able to find a matt black one available from any dealers selling this jacket. From my research, there has historically been a warmer version called the Nuptse Quantum which has 900 fill, but only 900 of these were made - however, there seems to be a wealth of them on auction sites so maybe that answers the second part of your question about fakes? I stand to be corrected if any of my info's incorrect. Anyway, mines now been dispatched so I'll give an update on when I get it.
