Only certain sizes/colour combinations remaining (please don't down-vote just because your colour/size isn't available, mine wasn't either but I thought the link might be useful for someone else!).

The RRP for these is £100 (although they do sell for higher in some stores), the next lowest price I could find on the web was £74 (if you find any cheaper they are likely boys, not mens).

5% Quidco possibly available (or not - see comments).

NOTE: I would check the size you need on this link before ordering (half way down the page, "What size fits you?" box). The sizes are "generous": http://www.thenorthface.co.uk/tnf-uk-en/men-s-resolve-jacket/p46876.html

Thank you, I'll include that in the post

5% quidco too.

I just bought the last L Haglofs Bivvy Down vest on Saturday and searched both Quidco and TCB for Gaynor Sports prior to buying but they didn't come up. Just tried again and still can't find them.

Don't worry, it's more of a fashion statement brand.

Although I agree that a lot of their stuff is just streetwear TNF do make some proper gear too. It costs a lot more than this though.;)

They didn't have my size in the colour I wanted so I bought it from Taunton Leisure for £70 delivered. Hot deal.

I have got one. I think it is overpriced even at this price. It is a decent jacket and does what it says but nothing special. Quality ok.

Can't find the 5% Quidco either - that seems to be direct from TNF. Same jacket available in some colours for same price from Great Outdoors Superstore which has 10% Quidco. I've ordered from there. Delivery also free (or £3 for premium).

Not a bad price but unreasonable postage. Try tk maxx, they have a lot of NF jackets at discount prices.....Worth a look.

I have this jacket, it isn't very windproof or warm, I have a Trespass jacket of similar design that is very windproof, waterproof and cost half the price.

If you plan to wear it in the hills, this goretex one for £10 more would be better:

I have had this jacket for over 5 years and it is still 100% waterproof.

Also like this one better, plus it's got extra pockets as well.

I must admit, I didn't check Quidco (somebody said in a comment it was on Quidco, so I added it). I'll change it again.

You put the quidco in. You take the quidco out. In, out, in, out, and shake it all about...

In all seriousness, why do you care?

Unless I am missing something the actual users of this site don't actually make a penny from the massive amounts of business that the retailers receive as part of these deals. I'm sure that the owners of this site receive a referral bonus but I'm always surprised when people take it very personally that "their" deal is up/down voted.

I have had this jacket for over 5 years and it is still 100% waterproof.

Both of mine are waterproof too, I'm just comparing the performance vs. price of the two, in my experience.

For the price this is very good - I have a lot of The North Face stuff (including one of these), but trying to move away from them a little as, unfortunately, they are a victim of their own success (a bit like Burberry were) and whilst they were only ever worn by outdoors people, they're now the chav-brand of our time, more street corner than muddy trail...

Well, I suppose it is the same question as "what motivates people to share deals at all?". The answer for me is that I've benefited enormously from this website and like to give back sometimes.

The only way a deal becomes widely viewed is if it hits 100 heat, as I'm sure you know hitting that 100 can be a pain in the proverbial sometimes. Posts sometimes fester for days then explode when they hit 100. You sometimes think you've posted a great deal and when it gets stymied by a few down votes and just misses the hot section by a small margin it is frustrating (because comparatively few people look through "new deals").

It isn't a vanity thing (and I'm not associated with the retailer. Truth be told, I never heard of them until I stumbled on this deal!). To return to the above; if the goal is to share a deal with the community then surely it follows you should word (and format) your post so that it is designed to hit 100 heat as quickly as possible so it pushes the deal from new deals into the heat section and (perhaps most importantly) onto the front page?

Still, I wouldn't go as far as to say I "care" (I wouldn't lose any sleep over it!).

Thanks for the honest response. I've also saved a lot of money by using this site (and probably spent as much as I have saved by buying things that I dont really need :-) I've just been curious of late as to why a lot of posters get so protective of their deals especially when they are not explicitly benefiting from them. Perhaps the time is coming when UKHD will actually reward the people who make this site what it is.

I think a few people are thinking this deal is from TNF website (hence the confusion), it is from Gaynors. Maybe I should have put that in the title?
