North Face (TNF) Borealis Rucksack (new updated version).

I've been searching for a rucksack that could hold my laptop, camera and other items on a daily basis. The cheapest place I could find online was Amazon @ £48.56 (Prime), but today I noticed Millets had these on offer @ £45 in store (reduced further than their website). This is the newest version, not the classic.

There are two versions of this bag, the new (2015) and the classic. Both were £45 in store.

Description:

Backpack with FlexVent suspension system, moulded shoulder straps and a padded mesh back panel. It has spine channel help for maximum support and ventilation. Padded, fleece-lined compartment in the front for 15" laptop to protect it from bumps and falls. Side compression straps offer the ability to adjust load.

Volume: 28 litres

Dimensions: 50 x 22 x 34.5 cm

Weight: 998 g

it was £36 on Amazon for last two weeks, and some people had it for £32 by placing orders by

Had the classic version of this bag for 9 years now. Still going strong, looks the same as the day I bought it. The newer version looks a little bit 'cheaper', but I have no doubts it will hold up like the classic. I paid £85 for mine originally, so anything less than that is hot in my eyes.

Bought it for £36 on Amazon a couple of weeks back.

I use a bag everyday, carry my MacBook Pro, Windows Laptop (work one), iPad and everything else.

It's really important I have a decent one. It replaced my Berghaus bag, it's night and day. The quality of The North Face bag is fantastic and puts Berghaus to shame, definitely won't go back.

Even for £45, if you need a decent bag go for it. You won't regret it.

not sure about putting Berghaus to shame, I have a 15 year old Berghaus bag that i use everyday, though the main compartment zip is starting to go. That said, I've been using it for 15 years now without comparison, so maybe The North Face is better. without comparison, I'd still put them both on an equal footing.

Perhaps it's the Berghaus one I've got but the padding (both rear and bottom), zips and compartments feel solid. Especially the zips actually, was the first thing I noticed... They're far more heavy duty.

Got it too, but not sure about that "classic version"... I can see few differences. I hope it will be as good as my old one.
