What a load of rubbish.
I am first to criticise Tesco, and rarely shop there, but this is just Libellous tripe.
#12
Might pop down my nearest Tesco and see what the craic is down there, wouldn't mind a steak tonight or tomorrow night :)

I had one of these for dinner last night (my 12 year old stepson had the other).

It was a reasonable steak without too much (if any) added water. Nothing to write home about but I managed to eat around 90% of it (other 10% being gristle etc as I'm fussy).

As for the water in meat - I've found their 3 for £10 offers tend to contain loads of added water. The pork chops can range from a nice firm texture to almost soggy depending on who has been supplying them that week and their chicken breasts range from superb (usually the British branded chicken) to absolutely dire with offall and lots of extra added water (usually from Holland or Poland). The German sourced chicken is pretty average but I've had some issues with that as well.

Another one!
Meat HAS to be labelled if it contains added water, this is NOT watered

In your dreams!

Granted it's far better than Southern Irish (Irish Republic) meat, what with all the dodgy goings on there over the years, it is hard to be over-confident there, but in general terms it's not "the best" in any sense of the word, I think the prices meat can command is the bast indicator of that!

Also when we say meat, I will narrow it down to beef for the purposes of this thread.

Let's be realistic and say it is every bit as good as most UK produced beef, and I would be happy to buy it.

I got lucky earlier and managed to pick up 4 packs of Finest Sirloin for this price. Definitely check Tesco in in the mornings because thats when they seem to have the best reductions.
#32
No meat nicer than that reared in the green glens of Ireland. Irish cows are the happiest cows in the World, there's no real evidence for it, but it is scientific fact

Use the Go TO Deal to take you to Tesco's offer. The price offer applies to all UK branches, although regional/ local suppliers of the product will be used.

Just like Jock you quoted, you're completely ill-informed regarding water addition - not to mention offal.

Read what nihcaj said, he's an EHO like me, we deal with food labelling daily - you don't - you merely misinterpret what daft programmes you've seen on tv.

In that case they're breaking the Law.

Perhaps you need to take them to task over this and report them based on your hunch that they're breaking the country of origin labelling laws.

Then again, perhaps you'll just stick to littering shopping forums with misinformation and proliferating a lie.
