Wowzer... here is another awesome deal to Iceland for a week traveling from Bristol on 30th September returning on 7th October 2014. There are lots of flights available and from various departure airports too so make sure you check out Skyscanner.

We have found this fab little loft apartment on Airbnb which looks great for a group of friends or family wanting to head away for a few days, check it out on our blog.

Reykjavik, situated on Faxaflói Bay, is a beautiful, vibrant city, pulsing with history and culture. For those looking for a hearty meal or stiff drink to stave off the cold Winter months, there are a massive range of restaurants, bars and clubs mixed in with historic buildings, geothermal pools, fine galleries and museums for those looking to expand their cultural horizons. If you've ever wanted to experience the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights), Iceland is perfectly situated to capture the stunning display that illuminates the darkened night sky. The spectacular colours whirlwind to form patterns, known as the "Dance of the Spirits", in Medieval Europe the auroras were believed to be a sign of god.

There is a lot more to Reykjavik than seeing the Northern Lights too, a trip to the Gullfoss (Golden Waterfall) or the Open-Air Folk Museum - Arbaejarsafn are definitely recommended and we suggest checking out Trip Advisor before you travel so you can plan which attractions you would like to visit.
Transfers can be picked up really easily at Flybus and you can book these in advance on their website.

Flights bookable with Easyjet for 6 x Adults = £270.48
Accommodation bookable at Airbnb = £322.00

Flybus return for 6 x Adults = (21.000isk) £108.47

TOTAL PRICE FOR 6 X ADULTS = £700.95 (£116.82pp)

It has always been Iceland, I know this because the guy that started it set up by renting someone's shed to put a couple of freezers in, in a little Welsh Village not far from where I grew up up. :D:D:D

Hi Stacey,
Are you able to advise on a price based on 2 people please? Xx

7 nights in Iceland oO

I can't imagine you.ll see the northern lights in September October but I could be wrong..

A good deal, as just bought 10 tickets for £189 return in November on easyjet..

should not be advertised as northern lights, as there is no guarantee you will see them.
Iceland is expensive (if you like a drink) so a week might be a tad heavy on the wallet 'o)

£270 / 6 = £45 easyjet return plus £20 airport bus,
Then choose your accomodation .. Probably best booking a smaller apartment or hotel as the accomodation is split over 6 people,

wrong time of the year,

Yes, check what you want to do in Iceland. For example, the open air museum Árbæjarsafn mentioned in the blurb is actually closed in October - and you're not going to see the Northern Lights either. You can do Iceland on a budget - with this self catering option you can cook yourself - the supermarkets are not too expensive - the notable exception being alcohol.

Hi Stacey sorry to pester you, any chance of some help with this sorta thing in January for 4?
Flying from Newcastle would be awesome

It seems to be SSS's "tagline" for Iceland, despite it actually not being a great destination to see the lights (the weather is generally not good enough).

Early October might be a good time for a weather/darkness compromise although the moon is a problem at this time of year so if you go when the moon is too bright you'll be very lucky indeed to see anything.

Personally I don't think there is enough to do in Reykjavik for 7 days either.

Iceland is second top on ky bucket list! what a temptation!

I've used airbnb before and its a great cheap way for groups or big families to stay in the heart of the action for a sensible price

Including Northern Lights in title is very misleading.

It's a marketing ploy. If the chance of seeing the lights is 1% it will be advertised as Northern lights.

Northern lights = click thru sales = commission.

Sad times.
