One of the worst things you can put on your computer for blocking it up... would rather download and use the free version of AVG...

Its amazing how many call outs I have from clients computers going slow, and as soon as you take off Norton they amazingly speed up again...
#2
Poor deal even if it was free
Agree with the captain 100%
#3
Terrible software. I wouldn't install it if they paid me the £20.
#4
have any of you tried this version as i've seen a few reviews saying they have built it from the grounds up and it now uses a lot less resources
#5
Yep, I have personally removed it off at least 10 computers in the last 2 weeks,..... no better than the 2008 version at using system resources in my opinion...
#6
It will be a quicker job to get an elephant to sit on your laptop/desktop pc

Either way, your pc will end up being slow and flattened :D

AVG Free :-)

Avast FTW

im a little confused why everybody likes to post norton and mcafee here 99% of those deals are going to get vote cold, if you see a product from norton or mcafee and think its a good deal, go ahead buy it. Just dont post it here because we are going to vite it cold seeing trhat products from norton and mcafee are rubbish, there plenty of free alternatives out there that take up less system resource and do the job better!

Kaspersky 2009, free for Barclays customers. Other banks may have similar offers for online customers.

Best IS package i've used, thats free or requiring cash:thumbsup:

Avira is da way to go. :)

TBH, it's not the way the site works is it? You vote cold if you can find it CHEAPER elsewhere, not because YOU think it's crap!

It can be as cheap as it likes, as if it does not do the job intended then it is worthless, and I am not going to vote something HOT which is, in the long run, going to do your computer more harm than good...

And as a computer engineer of 30 years+ with my own computer business, i dont THINK its crap, I KNOW IT IS....

Hmm yeah OK then. Having your own business doesn't mean you're a guru, but I know I wouldn't recommend Norton; Symantec's Corporate AV software is much leaner and efficient.

I never confessed to being a guru, but I would like to think that I know what I am talking about!!
