I was going to post this, but the price is exc VAT and Postage (£27+ when these are added).

Cheaper at Amazon £24 +/- all in.

Even if they paid you to use it I'd still expect a lot of the usual negative comments about Norton. Bring ‘em on. :p

Well, I've just installed Norton Antivirus08 OEM single user from SCAN - price £8.99 excl VAT + P&P, (but I bought other stuff so this was free).

It picked up 14 - yes, fourteen "threats" that the latest free AVG had missed, including 2 nasty trojans.

I just installed Nortons 2008 and they found a spyware threat right away,Mcafee was on my system the last couple of years and never found it.i bought my norton internet security 2008 from w h smiths for £24.99.

amazing how it always finds stuff to justify its installation

i used norton for a while but have gone back to avg / zone alarm

just as good and free to boot

Norton's antivirus component is possibly/probably better than some of the free alternatives, but if you are going to pay for something you might as well get the best available e.g. Kaspersky or NOD32. My machine always used to be slower with Norton's products and I've had to fix too many other peoples machines because of Norton issues to recommend it.

Probably a good price for a 3 user licence and therefore a good post so I'm not going to vote it cold, but equally I can't vote it hot.

I agree about Norton, everytime I have uninstalled it for myself and friends, the new antivirus software always find loads of bugs, trojans etc. I use Avast Antivirus, it's totally free.

If you want to see a really good comparison site and find out which definately finds the most, check out:-

http://www.av-comparatives.org/

Select Comparatives then On-demand comparative, online report. They run tests every 3 months and the results are sometimes 'unexpected' :)

Like on the latest report, Norton Antivius was one of the very few to detect polymorphic viruses (12 out of 12), excellent and it appears my Avast is one of the worse! Have a look at the report.
