OK, so there are lots of DVD players out there....
But if you are looking for a DIVX player (to play downloaded films etc), you usually have to spend around £50!

So this is a real bargain. It may be a bit budget/basic, but it is ideal for the spare room etc

THE CHEAPEST DIVX PLAYER? PROBABLY.

Great Deal, even with £ 6.30 delivery charge

Great deal
#3
it's £6.30 for store pick up (can't work that out !!) and £7.20 for delivery.

Still a great price , voted hot !

Thanks for the deal

Bear in mind that this player will come with a European plug on it, but will (probably) be supplied with a UK adapter.

This should only be a problem if you need your plug to be flush to the wall. Otherwise, it's rather good value.

Voted hot.

Deals should include the delivery cost! Bit misleading! Still voted Warm tho!

savapoint.com are doing
Umax Kazuki 7400X DivX DVD for £37.94 inc P+P

for the extra few ££ you get a usb port. I just got one yesterday and have my external HD full of divx movies playing off it. Saves on burning a CD each time.

Just make sure your external HD has its own PSU is USB2 and is formatted to fat 32.

£26.20 including delivery. SVP and Ebuyer have divx player for that amount. It's just the normal price for the cheapy ones. Voted cold accordingly.

Before or after the HUKD discount?

Before or after the HUKD discount?

I didn't check. I just know that I bought one not long ago (to replace last years, these cheap ones dont last that long and obviously arent worth repairing) from Ebuyer for £20 odd quid delivered. (Technically I bought 2 and a new keyboard for £50 delivered all in.)

I know I almost bought an Umax from SVP (Currently out of stock - just checked) for a similar price and there was one from amazon for £29 I think.

I'd choose all of these over Pixmanias french one.

I'd also point out that these cheapy divx players are hit and miss. I've bought 5 altogether and 2 had to be sent back immediately. So you 'really' need to buy from somewhere with a good returns policy. Pixmanias returns policy was a bloody nightmare last time I checked. You had to post the thing back to France at your own expense and they'd refund you the expense if they found a fault. It 'might' have changed but I'd check closely beforehand.

I've added the delivery price to the OP :)

i bought one from amazon a while back for £30 - free delivery, works a treat.

I have a similar Divx DVD Player purchased from the same company the model is XS-360U which is the one above and has USB support...The model i have was not supplied with a UK adapter...had to buy one myself and also the remote control for the unit doesnt have a standby button...how annoying! It does do the basic job of playing Divx files however. Not sure whether the lower down model will be the same or not though...would make an enquiry if any of the above would annoy you.

I emailed SVP this morning when I spotted these but they are on back order according to their sales department - most of their DivX players seem to be sold out at present :-(
Edit They now seem to be back in stock - amazing.

Gotta love how the temp is over 100 degrees for a divx player that's the same price as other ones but comes with a french plug from france from a company with a nightmare returns policy and quite possibly doesn't even come with an adapter or a standby button.

Nobody reads these replies :)

Ebuyer have this one which looks similar to the SVP one for £22.99+del this weekend. The reviews says its playback is good (copes with packed bitstream) but remote and resume functions are a bit lacking.

Pixmania is very cheap but it seems that they save money by cutting back on customer service, ive had 2 bad experiences with them and refuse to buy from them now. I suppose if u want really cheap u have to deal with the lack of customer service!

Still voted hot tho for the price :)

Sorry to hijack the thread, but a number of these players mention mp4 playback, some with "divx" in brackets. What does this mean?

All my videos are clean mp4s not using divx/h.264 will these be playable?

If you buy 2 that's £46 before delivery and Ebuyer do free delivery, worth £5, over £50 so essentially you can get something from £4-£5 completely free. (I got a new keyboard)

 Which part of what I wrote was an opinion? It 'is' the same price as elsewhere, the one in the OP 'is' from France with a French plug and pixmania 'does' have a crappy returns policy.

Might wanna wait 'til I actually express an opinion before rolling out the yawn inducing attempts at insults.

Actually, there's another good suggestion. A yawn smiley. Should come in handy the next time yet another mod tries desperately to get a rise out of me.

I bought a divx/mpeg4/multi card reader player from lidl over a year ago for £17.99 and its still going strong!

Are prices for these things going up instead of down??????????:?
#31
I remember the lidl deal last year. It was very good, but you had to be camping outside the store from 4am in order to get one.

Even then, you'd have to fight the pensioners on the way to the till!

Ninja Pensioners....oh yes...
#32
Not really. I went 2 days later and there was a whole pallet of them left, all be it black in colour!
#33
Anyone got this player - how is the DIVX performance? - It looks nice, and its easy to take stuff back to Argos....

I bought it some time ago. It died two days later and went back to Argos. Not impressed by build quality at all.

Nice feature with the USB connectivity. I have 4 120GB HDDs with movies on, so this would be gr8 for me.

Just in case anyone was looking for the link for this deal, it's here.

EDIT: I can also recommend Yamada/Umax DivX players, having previously owned one.

Nice pic Blinky, you see that big massive red button, you'd think that is the standby button right? Wrong, thats mute! Lol. Its the same remote that i got with mine from Pixmania.

Its a great price for a Divx player, but remember to add £2+ for the plug converter (i purchased mine from the market) if you dont have one and also remember that you dont have the luxury of being able to put the unit on standby. Other than that, it works just fine.

Ehh, no :? . The big red button IS the standby button :p , mute is at the bottom left of the remote
The pic blinky posted is of the DV-154, and I have one in the spare room.
