It's instore only. I brought 6 bottles 3 days ago (last wednesday) My local store is London Colney. I shop there every week so the offer is very recent!

Might be worth giving your local store a phone call first.
#7
Although caroline072's welcomed list is very usfull, there are many more offers which aren't included. It really is worth going to your local store for a bargain browse.

No. In fact I've only just started shopping at M&S because of their half price offers.
#25
I think some M&S items are over priced but in many cases I think it's justified on quality alone. Along with Waitrose their food tastes so much better than other supermarkets. Some people can't taste the difference or can't afford to shop there. Myself, having sensitive taste buds means it will cost me more, so any M&S food that I like that's half price is a big deal to me.

I also use Sainsbury & Tesco for some items but I prefer to buy meat from M&S or Waitrose. A free range chicken always tastes so much better than battery-farmed. I tried a few Tesco value food item's and every time I ended up throwing them away. It's like comparing a Ferrari to a Metro. One costs a lot more but the experience is very different.

I find Waitrose and M&S have such a low standard. I prefer to have my own presonal chef to prepare everything fresh. So for our salads, we wouldnt eat it if it's more than 30 minutes old. For our beef, we have to have it within 1 hour of the cow breathing to our table.
And our chicken, we have our own lab to make sure they are as fresh as possible. They live in the Alps, so as free as they can be - and when I feel like we have an urge to eat chicken, we would get our Concord and have our butler to get our chicken from the Alps.
It's not cheap, but when you have all the money in the world and have such a high regards for excellence....
And no, I wont drive a ferrari either... too mass produced.

I sincerely feel sorry for you people who has to endure waitrose and M&S. Such an appaling situation. No one should have to go through those hardships of shopping at those dumps. Dont even start me on other poor people supermarket....

Lighten up! There's nothing wrong with being a Tesco employee or driving a Metro. I use to own one myself. LOL
#28
Listen if people would rather buy Asda's cheesecakes thats fine by me - I'd buy them too if they tasted anything like as good as M&S's. Whats your problem TinoP? I've missed who your 'joke' is aimed at.

Anyway can I just say that no-one has to shop at M&S, but I like to buy certain 'treats' from them when I can afford it. And for anyone else that does I can yet again totally recommend the cheesecake! :D I think I'm a Very Berry junkie! Lol!
#29
m&s, can't be compared to waitrose not to talk of tesco(finest ot not). there good is scrumpious and people always think its expensive but if u really do the maths and compare it without going by what u already have in your head, then u'll see that its probably pennys in it and not that pricey as you think. i've always shopped there and once you start bying things there, you won't buy from other shops because you'll taste the difference. i worked there too when i was at college, miss my 20% discount though(and waste for those that know lol)

:giggle: It would have been more amusing had some of your outlandish 'claims' not been utter nonsense:

Chickens in the Alps?! Concord?! Beef that's 1 day old?!:giggle:

Good attempt, though.

I feel sorry for you TinoP. You eat beef and chicken! I used to, but then I got a better job. I am more of a baby panda person myself...but only when they have been massaged by Brazillian beauties for 3 month's before serving them.

And its a shame you have to travel second class on concorde. We prefer the X-15 rocket plane. I mean, if you can't travel over Mach 6.85 (4520mph), then you may as well walk...

It's been very difficult time, my friend..... Our private equity funds have been under scrutiny. 10% tax on all of our 20 billion £ gain means that I cant live as lavishly as you. oh..... I cant wait to go back to your level of lifestlye again.....

All kidding aside, my wife works for one of the big meat importers in the UK. Sometimes, they supply Waitrose, M&S, Tesco, Aldi, Lidl etc from the SAME suppliers. Just different packaging. I am sure M&S & Waitrose would pay a little bit more for packaging :).

That is common practice throughout the UK for raw product, and indeed a substantial amount of cooked product too. The majority of the cooked product is however subject to differing standards of packaging (affects product quality) and curing etc, thereby ending in a different final product; but raw is raw, pretty much.

It's the brand snobbery that makes me laugh.:giggle:
#34
You two are missing the point - they might be produced in the same 'factory' but they are not necessarily produced to the same standards. Many years ago as a student I worked in a pickle factory. The quality control for the products being prepared for M&S was lots tighter than for own brand/ordinary supermarket stuff. The floors were kept clean too when M&S lines were running! Lol! :giggle:

So you can't tell the difference in taste? Well I can. You spend your pennies on whoever you please. I'll spend mine on quality.

I think you missed my point too.

I was clearly referring primarily to raw products...

Do you seriously think that M&S have control over how farmers rear their cattle and hand select the carcasses at the abattoir?
#36
Don't you think you can tell the quality of the meat (and I'm a vegetarian) from the farms its been reared on and then seeing the 'raw material' when it arrives at the factory? Of course you can. Try again.

I don't need to 'try again':whistling:

I inspect food premises, and am therefore privy to company policy, supply chains, packaging procedures etc etc...:)

Anyhoo, if you want quality meat (not you, obviously) get it from a local butcher. Supermarket meat is rubbish.
#38
actually this is rubbish as m and s only have oakham chickens from a reputable company i know this because i have been to their farm also work for marks and spencers. i take it you inspect food premises so,if you know it all tell me which company supplies marks and spencers and i bet your wrong. as i know exactly which companies supply as i work for m and s. and do food orders for suppliers and go to their lunches ect. if your a veggie you wouldnt know good chicken. and by the way all the meat is not reared on one farm. when you get facts correct come back and we can debate.
#39
oh yes if anyone has had tesco asda food compared to m and s your taste buds are obviously un developed. m and s everyone knows you get what u pay for. quality over quantity. how dare you slam marks and spencers get a life
#40
yep local butchers have fresh meat everyday yeah right they have no best before dates or use by dates so they can keep it as long as they want to on the shelves.
