Novatech 32" LCD TV 289.99 Delivered

Novatech branded LCD TV 289.99. Same price as the Vistron at Ebuyer but has a 3 year warranty(compared to 1 year at Ebuyer) and appears to be a similar spec.

The new 32" HD Ready LCD TV comes with a digital tuner (DVB-T) with an integrated CI slot. This makes it easy to receive Paid for TV channels with a smart card. DVB-T guarantees excellent picture quality and is the ideal choice for rooms where there is poor cable TV reception or no cable at all. It also has the ChroMax colour engine and dynamic contrast ratio of 6000:1, which will deliver blemish free images and strong yet natural colour palettes. HDMI is amongst the many connectivity options, opening the door to the world of HD and affording flexibility and compatibility with a vast array of media players and broadcast services. The classic design is enviable whether wall mounted or freestanding and the black cabinet with brushed aluminium detail is incredibly slim, so stylish yet not imposing.

Looks to me like the Mirai DTL-832E600. There is a link to the web site
http://www.mirai.eu/Europe/ProductDetails&product_id=66&cat_id=32
and another link to the avforum
http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=700940
Hope this will help forming an opinion.

Seems a pretty decent TV for a good price - voted hot.
I agree with pet2000 this looks to be the Mirai DTL-832E600 as sold at Misco for £364.24 + delivery.
The contast ratio is 1500:1 (6000:1 dynamic) - this wiki page gives an explanation of contrast ratios.

Also 3% quidco available on this

what are peoples opinion on this? ive got my dad coming round on thursday as ive showed him the vistron tv on ebuyer and he was going to purchase one, but after seeing this im not sure? novatech is about a mile away from where i live so i could collect it from there, plus 3 year warranty. but the vistron has good reviews and a samsung panel, so im a bit confused on what would be best? any thoughts from anyone?

I think the Mirai was well received in general - check out AVForums for more info.

Some images of the panel:

The best thing is to read the buyers feedback on the ebuyer site and the avforum discussion (see link above). I've read both and came to the conclusion that the Novatech TV is good and the ebuyer is "hit and miss" (meaning the end control at the manufacturer is probably not that good) If Novatech is just around the corner from you, I would go with that because if there is any problem, you could just drop it into them rather than waiting for a service to turn up at your door..

Valid point but speaking from my experience with Novatech their own brand lines are not the best, had a bit of a nightmare with a digital camera which they offered to replace then gave me the same one back!!!

Also when I have been instore there is a long line at the returns desk but with a 3 year warranty and if you are so close it might be worth buying just bear in mind returns are not for the faint hearted!

On the subject of Returns... I have had to return a tv to Novatech twice (not this model)

and both times they couldn't have been more efficient and helpful!

They ended up giving me a "free upgrade" to a better model with a bit of negotiation:whistling:

just an update, i decided that even though novatech is just round the corner from me, from the reviews i read i told my dad to go with the vistron tv on ebuyer as there are loads of reviews of it and most people seemed more pleased with the vistron over the above model.

still a good deal though and heat added !

excellent tv for the pice. Only thing is it lacks 1 hdmi BUT for £280ish with quidco and its easily one of the best budget tv around!! - This is a no brainer

Better then AOC, Hanspree and Vistron without a doubt (NONE of them can give a 3 year guarentee). Note; uses same remote codes as sony!.
