Novatech is at it again! Clearing many laptops at really decent prices, some are listed for e.g.

Novatech Notebook 12.1" - T5750 - 2Gb - 160Gb Hard Drive - DVDRW £279.98 inc vat (more powerful and affordable than netbooks, not much bigger neither)

X60MV Pro 17" - Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile T6600 4GB DDR2 500GB SATA HDD BDROM/DVDRW (good multimedia laptop)

X80 GTX Pro 17" Intel C2D P9700 4Gb 500Gb HDD, DVDRW Nvidia GTX260 - XP Pro £799.99 (Well powerful CPU +GPU combo!)

Wondering if this one is better than that T5750:

X20MV 12.1" - Intel Dual Core T3400 2GB DDR2 250GB SATA HDD DVDRW

Even with less powerful CPU, I think the X20MV range is specced better than Novatech basic notebooks?

Turns out the T3400 is basically a T5850, just with 1mb L2 instead of 2mb... performs practically the same though apparently. Whoever got that for £279 should be very happy, I rate 12.1" as just about netbook territory, and this kicks the cr$p out of any "netbook" out there. Just not sure on battery life.

the 12" looks good. though you will struggle with batttery and weight really! But good price for aa neat lil notebook!

No operating system though.

the 12.1 inch sounds a good price to me though at 1.88Kg it is a bit heavy and I would imagine that the battery life isn't that great

Doesn't seem that great from those links. Peeps would probably be better off spending a little more on something with a bettery battery life, more muscle, and hence more future proof. Tis a shame as I only live down the road from a Novatech and I would have picked one of these up if they had been a bit better

I agree if you're looking at just laptops, but the 12.1" seems to be a nice halfway-house between the poratability of a netbook and the power of a laptop. For the same price, any netbook is going to be far weaker in terms of performance. I'm beginning to think that better CPU, slightly bigger screen (better res), more RAM and a DVD-RW is more important to me than slightly lighter and better battery life... might still snap that 12.1" up, god I hate these decisions!

X20MV is not a badly made laptop but it's noisy and the battery life is shockingly low - 1.5h of light usage with new battery (2400mAh, 4-cell), imagine it after a few months or so.

I was just looking at that. Strange having a top of the range (from that era) gxf card with a mid range CPU. Good price though!

+1, that's a bloody good price. 1920x1200 screen too.
Shame about the cpu; though it's a lot easier to upgrade the cpu than the gpu...

TBH 285M GTX isn't that much more powerful.
