Orange have found core plans are having a negative effect on customers oppinion of the network and therefore are to be scrapped!.
Any existing customer wishing to move to an animal plan will no longer need to be in the last 3 months of their contract they dont need to upgrade or agree to a longer contract with the network and can instead from 21st of June migrate to an animal plan!!

Great news all round!

Only conditions are: If the customer is on a web only tariff they need to speak to customer services and migrate to a web animal.
If they are on a standard/retail package they need will migrate to retail based animal.

Please note these changes dont take effect until tomorrow, i will keep you posted if there are any changes to this date.

**DUCKY ADDS:
If you are on a cashback offer then make sure you ring the RETAILER to check their stance on this. It is likely that you will lose any planned cashback if you do switch tariff!!**

I understand what your saying but i cant think of any customers that would be affected by this.
Animal plans started 18 months ago, any customers getting cash back will already be on this plan.
This will effect customers with plans older than 18 months old.
Ie customers on Talk 200 (Core 30) £30 for 200 mins

Its also worth noting you will move onto an animal plan which equivelant to your current contract term (ie your in a 12 month contract you get 12, your in 18 you get an 18 plan)

What I'm saying is that you can move from an animal plan to an animal plan. If you move from a £35 plan to a £30 one during your 12 month contract then that WILL cause problems with the retailers. But for some even just the name change will as they may lose their commission.

You would be surprised! ;)

If your not a texter how about racoon £35 for 700 mins any net any time, + 100 texts + unlimted calls to landlines+choose a orange number to call unlimted
Gotta be a good deal for anyone paying £30 for 200 mins by itself

Canara 40 for the Everday 50 lovers thats bills seem to sky rocket! Unnlimted calls to ANY Orange ANY time of day, also 200 texts and 800XNet mins

Yes you are correct, all plans will be charged

Can I stay on a core plan if I want to? Those animal plans would end up costing me more money.

Its for existing Orange contract customers that are on tariffs older than 18 months that dont really represent as much value as the new talk plans orange launched called animal plans.
So existing customers can ellect to move to the new plans without penalty (which has been the case for the last 18 months)

Ok I started an 18 month plan Nov last year... £35 a month with £5 broadband...

Theres a £30 contract which would suit what i use... could i downgrade to that one, still have only the 10 months left on contract, and qualify for broadband?

can this be done on net... or have to be done on phone

As sujested earlier make sure this doesnt clash with any cash back deals (if dealt with orange retail or direct this wont apply!)
You can downgrade your price plan after 9 months so in this case you would be looking at August this year. Then yes you could move to a £30 animal and not break terms of your broadband as you would still be £30+

Alternatively you can change to a £35 animal now as your not downgrading and are not hit my the 9 months migration policy

Orange have started to charge for these number only if you have upgraded or had a new contract direct from orange from 01/03/2007 to 31/07/2007.So if your are on a old contract you can still use these numbers (animal or no animal)

Hi Blackhorse, don't know if you can help me here....

I rang Orange on 150 (343 wasn't working) and followed the prompts to get to the bit where I could change my account options. I explained "what I had heard from somebody" about being able to change from a core tariff to an animal tariff without being in the last 3 months of my contract and the guy flat-out denied it!

Is it possible that not everybody knows about this yet at Orange or did I ring the wrong number?

I'm on a really terrible tariff and I want to get rid. I've worked out I could be paying £15 less a month easily. Any info would be ace. Cheers.

Great post, useful to know. Although I do think Orange animal plans are seriously overpriced. Suppose its not so bad if your getting broadband free :)

Yea there is that chance the policy only changed today and its been the opposite for the last 18 months.
PM me if you have any further troubles
#31
Hi Blackhorse, cheers for that reply.

I jusr rang back now and got through to a helpful lady who said that they can only change my plan in the system from Monday onwards, so to call back then.

Anybody who's calling and seems to be hitting a brick wall, I would try again on Monday. The girl I spoke to said that I would definitely be able to do it then. :)
#32
So is there anymore news on this then? I've also tried ringing them up & apprantly they know nothing about it!
#33
Yea system issues have been sorted.
Any problems give me a shout
#34
