had email of virgin prices going up again in feb 2015
#3
same here, £6 a month. virgin is good though, very rarely have any problems with it. we also have now TV will take a look at entertainment packages as alternative to virgin

Buzzduraband.

Cheers you would be cheaper buying a new Now TV box every couple of months.

A Now Box will get you one month free movies and the option to purchase sports either daily or weekly. The Box has bbc iplayer bbc sports app which shows most live bbc sports shows. itv player it plays better than the app on th ps3 and has itv1 itv 2, itv3 and 4 citv and itvbe all live as well as on demand. 4on demand and 5 on demand. A fairly good youtube app and vimeo the video app. Tunein radio but its limited , no bbc channels but plently other local and national radio channels and podcasts. there is a few other channels and the wifi signal reach in my house is good. Well worth £10 if you have unlimited wifi.
#6
yes, there are a few places around that provide 3 months entertainment or 2 months movies for a couple of quid more , well worth it

Virgin prices keep going up and up I'm on the XL Package thinking of just getting the smallest one and get the Now TV box.

Anyone have Roku. This has been recommended to me.
I am with Virgin and not happy with what I'm paying.
Have bought a Now box for the bedroom for over the holidays.
#9
not much use once it expires (apart from some crappy media player.... ) SKY if you are listening need to make this device available on sky go...
#10
Do you lose the I-Player after two months, then?
#11
Ditched my tv package was on XL got a letter saying going up £6 , wouldn't even knock £10 off and I've been with them for years so told them no problem I'll ditch the TV side of my package now saving £40pm on **** repeats.

Bought an android box never looked back

No you still have the catch-up channels. 8)

Thanks. So the box won't be totally useless, then....

I have recently moved home and been with sky for 5 years and wanted to stay with them as I had a good deal and for sky Atlantic ect. I couldn't have a dish cos it's a listed property so I oped for nowt tv with broadband and phone although I already owned a now tv box only used it to watch a odd match and when offers where on. So now I have unlimited broadband phone line and now tv box with movies and entertainment for £26 a month. Much cheaper and not just paying for repeated programs.

also higher quality and allows you to install Netflix, which the NowTV doesnt

The Roku2 also does full 1080 HD whereas the NowTV does 720

There are other differences, but this is the killer for me

I've had the NowTV and now have the Roku 2.... though I did buy the NowTV for family members to give them entertainment and catchup tv for their older tvs

prob with VM they give you "free" upgrades, then put the price up 6 months later ..crafty! i dont need 152mb bb, i cant really see why anyone does...legitimally! yet to downgrade to say 50mb would prob cost me more! theyre pricing strategies are tantamount to genius...they have you by the short and curlies!

I got one of these it came with free months free entertainment package for the £9.99
So I bought 4 that's £40 a year not bad

I have been a virgin customer for quite a while but their price increases was something I could no longer tolerate. It is almost as bad as the train fare increases. I've switched to BT (with a great cashback deal too) and got this BT TV box. How is this now TV box different to the BT TV box?

Argos have this for £13 with 3 month entertainment voucher. Its quite good for catch up tv but does buffer.

I have one already and 3 month entertainment package, can I use this pass on 2 boxes. if I bought another one for the bedroom for example or do I have to have 2 vouchers one for each box ?

you can connect up to 4 Now TV devices , includes smartphones etc to the same account, however you can only watch 2 at the same time, in most cases not an issue.

As for the 3 month package, wait until the current expires before applying the new code and you should be grand for another 3 months at the end :D
