also £14 for the entertainment pack and movie pack web only deal click and collect

Anyone know if you can use bt openzone with this?
#3
already use now tv occassionally, if i dont like the box can i still use the passes and sell the box on ebay?
#4
Seems to the best price going at the moment. How easy is the registration process? I've read you need to register a Visa or MasterCard before you can use NowTV, is this correct? Personally I would prefer not to provide any card details and use it on the basis of top up passes instead.

yes you can just take the passes out of the box and sell the box on. If you already have a sky account then you can sign in using that if not you have to set up a account but if you cancel things right you will never get billed hope this helps
#6
I buy them when there cheap and take the pass out and just sell the boxes on local sites get snapped up every time free passes for meX)

Huh? Can you use a wifi hotspot with this? I take it you actually want to know whether this will work over BT broadband? The answer being yes - any broadband provider works.

That's no what was asked. BT Openzone are hotspots. You need to log in from web browser, this device doesn't have no so you can't use it.

I've had the now tv box for about 6 months now - it's REALLY laggy. like you press the button then sometimes 2 seconds later it will do the action. BBC recently updated the iPlayer app on it, which has made it so laggy it's painful. just a warning for those lag-intolerant

You will need internet - any provider will work with it. You just need a speed of 2mb or more. More the better.

I'd have to say I've have the opposite experience with it, I've allready got a Sony smart TV that I thought was sluggish, bought one of these NOW TV boxes and it's so much faster.

Have had 3 NowTV boxes for 9 or so months and only one has ever had any problems.
That one has had the issue purely because it's located furthest aware from our wireless router. Once we bought a longer HDMI lead and moved the box we had no more problems.
All other boxes work perfectly with no lag.

Picked up one of these with the movie pass yesterday, topped up my movie access for another 2 months :)

Two little words - Sideload Plex 8)

The live tv video quality is pretty poor especially when used on a big tv. And it's not the most straight forward menu system so I would think twice before getting one as a gift for older folks. but 15 quid for 3 month sky shows and a months movies can't really go wrong.
#28
If you have a normal Sky subscription (for your sky sat box) can you use this on another TV and get your full subscription package?
So you don't need multiroom.

There's no lag in playback etc.. just the actual menus and navigation. Only on the iPlayer app and YouTube apps. Now TV app is fine. Underpowered box in my opinion. but can't complain for 10 quid

Got mine a few weeks ago from Tesco when it was £10 including 2 Sky Sports day passes but I have only just used the first of the two codes included. I actually opened a new account in the other half's name using a different email and was offered a 30 day free trial for Sky Movies. That's free movies for me over the Christmas period 8)8)8)

Just remember to cancel the trial straight away - ignore the warnings you will still get the full one month's trial.

No unfortunately not. :(

It's just a cut down version of the Sky package as far as the Entertainment and Movies channels are concerned. All the Sky Sports channels are present but you are only able to buy a daily or weekly pass for those so over a month it would be more expensive.

No it isn't. It's the exact same thing as Sky Movies TV package.
You get the option of watching live, or selecting from all the collections. What is available on Sky Movies TV is available on Sky Movies via NowTV.
