Am I correct in saying if you are an English NT member this will not include Scottish properties where as he Scottish NT includes all uk properties?

Anyone joined the Scottish Trust and any hassle South of the border? Thinking about joining and using for my family...

My English NT membership ended so I took the Scottish one and have continued to use it just like my English one with no problems whatsoever.

The only minor "issue" (and this is true of English NT also) is that with a family membership they are starting to insist that both cards are presented for entry. This can be annoying as sometimes my wife doesn't have the 'right purse' with her card in (mine's always in my one and only wallet). That said, we've never been refused entry despite this, just reminded of this silly new rule.
Thanks LP. Just waiting for September 1st and will renew via the Scottish NT.
I do not live in Scotland and have just bought membership without hassle. Whilst waiting for the card to arrive they send you a temp one through email. Also can confirm Parking is Free with the scottish sticker ( with the usual exceptions).

maybe if all NT memberships were even close to the same price then people would not do this!

Different countries have a different number of properties and land to care for and maintain . Of course the prices will be different.

That said - i am a English National Trust member and i don't agree with much of their pricing and policies. For example:
Clumber park charges a £6.80 parking charge for cars. Only cars pay - busses and other vehicles don't pay ( where is the logic in that ) . If you are a member and forget your membership card , but still have your car sticker that is supposed to allow free parking they still won't let you in without paying. So much for the sticker allowing free parking ! ( its a parking charge here - not an admission charge ! )

This doesn't include parking though. When you factor that in it's not that attractive.
I've never been ever asked to pay parking and I don't know anyone else who has either, and I know a lot of people with these cards.

When you go to NT car parks that usually charge do you just show the attendant your New Zealand card and they let you have free parking? On the New Zealand Heritage website it says parking isn't included.
Just wondering if there are any more deals, (the 3 month offer has ended on the uk site) its slightly dearer now on the scotland site (£67.)

Do you get 2 separate cards with the family deal in case you are in different parts of the country ?

I only just got the 1 card, not 2, I don't even think there's an option to pick 2

If the option was given with the NT to pay monthly like the NTS one, then I'd do that. But there is no option like that and I find it easier to pay for the membership on a monthly basis. I have corresponded with NTS today and free parking is indeed included across all of the English properties aswell as free entry. As a student on a low income with two children to entertain this is music to my ears.

My bad. The family is £80 which is not chepaer than NT like for like for 18 months with quidco.
I called last week and they said we have to take the family one for 2 adults. Works out better than NT as we dont rely on Quidco.
There is no Joint Membership option for adults :( with NTS.

it was years ago, think it used to only stipulate that parking was free in scottish car parks but could have changed.
I just called the National Trust Cumbria and the kind lady said that the Car Park if free even for NT Scotland members. OP - where did you get the info about parking? I will wait for your reply before deciding.

For the two of us the NT Scotland deal is better value for 18 months. Last time I took NT menebership through quidco, they changed the deal to 20% by the time it was validated and paid me 20% rather than 30% which was what when I took the membership
