These are great. Massive and very cheap bags. Loads of suction, long lead, quiet. Dont get hung up on the motor wattage - the newer lower wattage motors actually suck better than the older models.

Student discount on a vacuum cleaner, lol, like that's going to get used?

I bought one at £95 from Amazon which is to be delivered today, although I'm still waiting. Is there any way to get it at the lower price without doing a return?

live chat, ask to be refunded or you will have to return and reorder which is a waste of your time and theirs. Any online order can be returned without quibble within 14 days so effectively nearly all online retailers offer a 14 day match on price reductions even if they don't particularly advertise it.

Average performance on carpet, every vacuuming session was a workout. Pretty good on hard floors though.

Not an adequate replacement for our old DC04 Dyson unfortunately.

I will last 4 times as long though. My first one lasted 10 years, and numerous trips to the building site, I lost count how many times it fell down the stairs till one time it never recovered from the stairs fall. During the same period of time a friend went through 3 Dyson vacs. We did a job once and used the customer's Dyson, ten minutes and the filter was shagged. It wasn't even much brick dust and rubble.

Brilliant, work really well and made in the UK and rock solid!

These have a boost button, but I'm not sure how much extra suction that adds. It works perfectly fine in normal mode.

When someone doesn't realise Hoover is a registered trademark and the correct terminology is, in fact, vacuum cleaner.

3 Dysons in 10 years when they each have a 5 year warranty? There's a reason Henry vac's are fine with brick dust and rubble - the filters are that porous they let all the finer dirt back into the air. Great if you're and allergy sufferer.
#25
Good price, you should also look out for the airobrush and buy that if its drops down its price!

Henrys are also fitted with HEPA filtration - so the remark about finer dirt going back into the room is rubbish.
The real reason they last so long and continue to offer good suction is the excellent quality motors and that they use bags. Every time you change the bag you are effectively fitting a new filter.

I had to push them hard to get anything off them, and only got a £10 gift card. I was willing to return and re-order to save £10, they were going to make the sale at £85 anyway, and the vacuum has been delivered to the border area of NI so it would probably cost them £10 to go and pick up the return and £10 to re-deliver. I should have pushed for more!

Thank you for the post I was looking to buy this and got it cheaper

Take a look when your next down the tip to see which vacuum cleaners are dumped the most (Dysons).

I think the older models have more experience when sucking :p

I've had a reconditioned DC07 for coming up to 5 years and the parts for it are really cheap for when things wear out or break (nothing yet). Are the newer ones a lot worse or something?

. All of these types of cleaning machines are vacuum cleaners.... Only the ones made by the Hoover company are Hoovers. So as the Henry ones are made by Numatic they are correctly called Henry vacuums. . . So unclench your fist and accept that people are right to call them that!

Henrys/numatics are bulletproof. I use mine for work and it gets its a** kicked, rubble, half bricks, it swallows the lot.
Had a dyson for 3 year, absolute piece of crap. 4 warranty calls required in that time until i ditched it. Dyson do have good customer service though, each time the parts were sent out with no questions asked. Just not worth the hassle. Changed to a meile for the house, what a beast, nearly tore the carpets up.

They didn't always come with a 5 year warranty and you will need the warranty. Think about it. Why do almost all commercial cleaners use Numatic and not Dyson?

Well that comment in itself shows that you know absolutely zero about HEPA filtration. It's not a completely sealed unit, so very fine dirt can and does pass back out.
