  Can't believe people still pay even £1.10 for branded Ibuprofen like Nurofen when Tesco/Asda/Morrisons own brands are about 40p.

  Because for me the own brands don't work, and never have. I am sure that it is psychological, but regardless of that they still don't work!!!....

  Psychological or not, half the normal price is definitely a good deal. This is one of those things where you pays your money and takes your choice. Voted hot.

  20+ years of medical experience later and I still cannot understand why people do not take time to read the ingredients of their medication. Nurofen is simply a brand name by a single company that added pretty packaging to screw you out of your hard earned money!
  
  The medication is simply Ibuprofen. Ask your chemist for unbranded Ibuprofen and, save a few pennies for your retirement!

  The medication is simply Ibuprofen. Ask your chemist for unbranded Ibuprofen and, save a few pennies for your retirement!

  I always buy the cheap brands but I don't think people are comparing like with like here. This isn't the standard form of Ibuprofen which is available cheaply but Ibuprofen Lysine which is defined by netdoctor.co.uk as the following:
  Nurofen migraine pain tablets and Nurofen tension headache tablets contain ibuprofen lysine, which is a form of ibuprofen that is more soluble than regular ibuprofen. This means that it starts to work more quickly than regular ibuprofen tablets/caplets
  
  So, if the above is correct, then it might be worth paying the extra for quicker results.
