Just got an email from Prospects.ac.uk and Endsleigh saying that students who have graduated can still claim an NUS Extra card for cheaper than the £12 a year price.

Thing is, I've been through the steps and successfully ordered one and I never had to put in any information about my university or education so it's potentially open to everyone! :)

I'm sure everyone knows how good these cards are but here's a link to all the discounts you get:

http://www.nus.org.uk/en/nus-extra/discounts/

Once you've successfully ordered the card, you can get your card number straight away.

Just click Track Your Order in the confirmation email you receive and log in with your details and you can see your card number and start using it straight away. - Credits to eggmanpete

Bit harsh to say Discrimination.

Anyhow here's some facts from the OU

Our students

There is no typical OU student. People of all ages and backgrounds study with us, for all sorts of reasons – to update their skills. get a qualification, boost their career, change direction, prove themselves, keep mentally active.

Over 73% of OU students work full or part-time during their studies
The average age of new undergraduate OU students is 29
Only 9% of our new students are over 50
30% of new OU undergraduates are under 25
Over 26,500 students are under 25

The key word here is "Recently" graduated. I wonder what they consider recently, 1 year? 2 years? 5 years?

Students can be of any age .... a few years ago my parents used to travel by train with my mother as a (very) mature student with a "young persons railcard" and my father with a "senior citizens railcard"!

You can still get a free cheesburger or fries at macdonalds I believe with a meal ;)

...always worked for me saying I have one at the drive thru when I don't and they don't bother asking to see it.
Now I can proudly strut inside like a dirty student chav instead.

Sorry that was rude of me.
Usually yes as you say it should go to where your course is based from as have had one in the past from a friend who was doing an OU course who didn't want his so used my photo.
In this case and the reason it's attracted the attention it has and has been posted is that it appears you don't need to provide proof of where the course is or register with .ac address or anything like that.
I'm pretty sure you didn't need a .ac address anyway but just clarifying that too.

Do you have to pick a course or study? When I try to order, it has automatically picked my place of study as Endsleigh?
Can anyone explain please?
