Yes but can add this in the last 30 day of your 3 months
Does anyone know if now tv codes can be stacked? I took out the 3 months movie pass through the my galaxy app on my Samsung phone only a few weeks ago.

Do I need to wait for that to run out before I can add any other voucher codes?

can you get an nus card without being a student ? is that just impossible .

Easily done, simply buy an Alumni NUS Extra card. Looks exactly the same as the current student one.

Look through the nus based threads - I got one a year ago via a cheap online course, and I've just updated it for another 12 months

yes I ordered a cheap online photography course at the beginning of the year from hukd so would that be eligible for the nus card ?

Shame it isn't the Cinema Pass. Great price nonetheless.

Take a 14 day trial cinema pass.. cancel and you'll be offered it for £3.99 per month for up to 4 months
You can always get 3 month passes for £7-8 on ebay
Perhaps a tiny bit more compared to the ShopTo offer, but good if you don't want another box. There is also a deal for Cinema Pass as posted here: http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/6-months-half-price-nowtv-movies-pass-4-99-a-month-instead-9-99-for-student-nus-2515541#

btw this deal isn't that special - £4.99 a month is expensive

just bought a 4 month pass for £16.99 on eBay, plenty of others on there, slightly cheaper by my calculations.
I would be cautious myself as they only email you the codes and they are never guaranteed to work you have to contact nowtv support to activate as they are the old movies passcodes not the sky cinema passes. Not saying it's worse than this deal as it is cheaper but personally I would be careful with people selling codes on eBay

there's not much of a risk these days - Ebay will find in favour of the buyer in this situation - so will PayPal

cheats beware
Great timing. Just went on NUS app and got the code. Turns out my movie pass tomorrow didn't even realise

Can someone explain about this? I have had nus card for few years i logged into my nus account was given a code with amazon i then went to amazon and enter code at checkout.
Has it changed?
Do they require you to have amazon student as above or is this different?
Or has it all changed since last using it over a yr ago?
I can still buy stuff from uk and get posted to uk address which then can be forwarded to me overseas.
But i can also buy many things from amazon and get shipped overseas.
Would i benifit from this?
And what sbout prime not really know nothing about this i takes its more suited if living in uk still?
I got the nus card mainly for amazon purchases and any others who ship overseas and maybe from time to time can get stuff sent to uk address.
But confused about the amazon student thing and nus mentioned on here.
Greatfull of some feedback
anyone know if I can use a shaw academy diploma I did a few months ago? or does it have to be a current course/study?

Still working!
nice find
What's the score with nus card now? I have had mine for few years never used it last year but got another today.in past all I did was go on to nus site got code and then on Amazon site and worked.
But I'm reading now about Amazon student do you need to be part of this for it to work now?
Also in past you could use the 5% discount right away before getting your card as code to use was on site when logged in.
But why is it not working?

Also what are the benefits of have Amazon student if you already have nus card even more % off?
It says something like 31st October 2016 this Amazon student ends??
That's less than month away.
Very confused about it all before nus card was all I needed and my main reason was for Amazon like before but will use it on other site etc too this time.

I'm not clear on how you get the 5% off at Amazon? What do you have to do to start getting it?
I think it's a 1 off, there is a code on the NUS Extra site once you have a login.... after that i think it auto adds a discount of rubbish stuff like stationary.

They seem to have extended the discount as I've been gettiong money off loads of stuff.
So how do you use Amazon these days with this card seems to be changed last time I used it with them I went on nus site got a code and added it to my basket and took discount off, does not seem to be the way now?
Or is it cause I ordered card today I'm not able to use yet?
Any years previous could start using right away.
But it's this Amazon discount thing that I'm confused about now do they require you to sign up to Amazon and show your card now to get discount

Could someone advise me please, I got an NHS cardo last year when the original post came out. I managed to get student prime, but without a uni email I can't sign up to unidays or student beans and I find that this is what most companies use online for you to get you discount. Has anyone managed to get around this?I'd be so grateful of some help x
Tried for a while and then gave up, realised that life was too short.

Once you get hold of the NUS Extra card, you can also get Amazon Prime Student for £39 :)
No you don't..... you need a student/university .ac email address. I have an NUS card. As an OU student, we are not issued with .ac.uk emails so we can't get cheap prime :( Wish I could but they're having none of it.
You can however, get cheap prime without the NUS card as already said.
Yes you can. If you send an email to Amazon with a shot of your nus card. They will accept you for Amazon student Prime.
I sent a message and asked and they refused to accept I was actually a student. Told me they would only accept a letter on headed paper from university which is pretty difficult to come across in the digital world of OU.... I am more than happy to be proven wrong on this though. Did you just email the 'contact' bit on the site?
It has only been recently that Amazon have lifted the restrictions (I applied and was accepted in October). The email address i used was: [email protected]
Just attatch a photo of your nus card and explain it's an application to join Amazon Student Prime. :)

Ah, it was back when Prime first began that I tried and failed...... maybe they've had a lot like me and lifted the restrictions then. Be nice if they would actually tell people mind you!
Thanks for the info, will email later. How did they take payment, can they just add it to the account then we pay? Would be so much easier for everyone if they just accepted and validated NUS card numbers!

they even have the cheek to complain about an interst free loan that they don't have to even pay off until they're earning 21K...
It's not interest free. Interest is charged from the moment the loan is approved until the day it's paid off. Hence I paid mine off as early as possible to minimise the interest I had to pay.

Even though you'd have been better off keeping the money in a decent savings account because you'd make more in interest than the loan is costing you?
I thought they sent the card to your college or uni to be collected? no?
mclovin9091
ok yes they might contribute later on but I they are getting something for nothing, giving the wrong lesson and a sense of entitlement that they shouldn't.
In the future they may well decide to join the emergency services or armed forces and then be entitled to discount from retailers for their service to the community and country but leave the discounts till then.
Another annoying thing that really grips me, is that certain stores give student discounts but do not extend the same courtesy to military or emergency personnel. (but that's another argument)

But students don't earn a lot now. They're learning, not earning. How is it something for nothing? You're hardly rolling in cash as a student. Why is it bad that they are getting discounts? The country needs students; why shouldn't a young adult be offered the incentive to better themselves?

You think they'll get a sense of entitlement from 10% off the odd shop and a free McDonalds hamburger every now and then? Really?

Edited By: drummerdickens on Nov 12, 2015 18:25
mclovin9091
This does my nut in.
WHY THE HELL DO STUDENTS DESERVE DISCOUNTS ON ANYTHING???
What have they contributed, other than racking up debt (unless bank of mum and daddy are paying) and spending student loans on booze? (granted not all are like that)

Because students are at the perfect age for companies to start making an impression on. They are young adults who are living independently for the first time who, although they don't have a steady income now, will likely get a steady income in 3 years and, typically, it will be a larger income than non-students by virtue of the fact they're continuing higher education.

If the company who offers the discount can reach these students and get them to try their products consistently over a 3 year period, the hope is that they will continue to buy said product after they leave university and for a good chunk of time afterwards.

Companies aren't just offering students a discount with this card. They're investing in a future customer base who will pay full price after university.
Just bought one after my student email access was revoked. unidays :(

The nus gourmet card bolt on does not give the same discounts as a gourmet card. Its use is restricted. You're better off hunting around for a free 3 month gourmet card code online and doing that every few months with different email addresses.
I paid £10 - It never turned up!
I have one of these (it was a freebie with a Club Lloyds account) and for £3.99 it's a no brainer. You'd only have to use it once to get your money back!

It's nice to know those hard up students can get a bit of money off.

Yup, and for everyone else who signed up on the previous NUS deal and received a card without validation. I'm not a student and work full-time, it just makes buying these things a little more satisfying with a little saving

it got accepted when I used it? maybe just certain places that get funny about it.
i tried to use my gourmet card that's on the NUS extra card but the waitress said it couldn't be used as they need a number to be able to get discount .. Is this correct or do I require another card
Just to mention that NUS Extra is also available to University staff members.
I didn't have to give an ac.uk email, just had to give my student number for the course.

Is this students, or people with .ac.uk emails?

You can do it online, I wasn't asked for a ac email just where I'm studding and what.
I'm doing an OU course and got one.

Ok, so bare with me on this one! It's a bit of a workaround, but it works! I realise NUS cards alone cost £12 for a year membership, but this deal is for someone who ISN'T a student, who wants the…

This doesn't work anymore for Amazon unless I'm missing something. They've changed the terms.
The new discount code (the old one expired end of August) can only be applied if you're an Amazon student member. Can't sign up for that as you need an ac.uk email address for it.

"How to Redeem:

To make a purchase on Amazon.co.uk using the discount codes, simply follow the steps below:

Ensure you are a member of Amazon Student. If you’re not, join now at http://www.amazon.co.uk/joinstudent/
Select the items sold by Amazon you wish to order, then proceed to checkout. (Please note, you cannot use the 1-Click shopping method.)
On the “Review your order” page you'll see a box headed “Gift cards & promotional codes”.
Enter your discount code into the box and click the “Apply” button. You’ll be able to see your discount deducted from the total cost in the order summary."

I've tried it and I can't apply my code like I could in the last year.

Just to confirm, managed to renew again from this deal for £12 - it saved all my info from last year & I put the end date down as 2020 (so hopefully another 5 years worth from this!).
Thanks again OP - saved over £800 last year with this.
The cards only last one year, whatever end date you out down!
£800 that's some going. I'm guessing a reduced Spotify subscription and gym membership account for some of it?
They only last 1 year, but allow yearly renewal upto your course end date, in my case 2020.
No need to find another course or student number until then, so £12 a year :)
Yes, gym & Spotify were the start, combined with holiday savings, shopping & meals out, works out quite a saving.
Even better when you move to a town with a university ;)

Trusay, but .. how the hell did you manage to pull off a 5 year window via the nus system?, damnnnnnnnnn ..... !!!!! lol.
If you are going to use the NUS discount on Amazon please write to NUS online as the discount ends in 6 days time and Amazon say it is down to NUS not them

I mainly got this for the Amazon discount and to only have it for a week or so is disappointing , IF they carry on the 5% discount I should at least save some money as there is not much else I will be using it on!
If you enter the promo card SYFY10, the course is £12.60!
