The latest NVidia graphics card using the G92 processor with 128 stream processors.

It is faster (5-10%) than a 8800GT card and has better cooling, at this price it is cheaper than some merchants are selling 8800GT as well.

Note: This is the new GTS card which is faster than either the 320MB and 640MB GTS cards that came before it. It can even outperform a GTX at lower resolutions.

Even though it is Dabs value, the manufacturer code and picture are for a Inno3D card which other retailers are selling for around £210.

Free Delivery at the moment as well!

I haven't actually voted either way, but the fact that this is a double slot (rather than a single slot) card, and I believe uses more power than a 8800GT card, may possibly put some people off.

Also the 8800GT has already dropped a bit in price, and can be picked up from somewhere such as overclockers.co.uk for as little as £130 with 256 MB of memory, or £165 with 512 MB, and which are currently in stock there.

new video card review over at tomshardware. Features the new 512mb GTS as well as the 8800gt 256mb.For my money it has to be the 8800GT 512mb.
The review covers all aspects including noise and power consumption, as well as the latest games like cod4 and crysis.

don't know why ppl are voting cold as that's a cracking price and is cheaper than what a lot of 8800gt cards are going for, unless you can get a 8800gt for less than £160 this is the better buy tbh

That is the best price in Britain for a new version 8800 GTS, i cannot see why this is voted cold either, the dual slot fan runs slower meaning less fan noise and cooler than on the single slot GT card which is why most over clocked GT cards now come with dual slot fans but still cost more than this better GTS card. This should be a hot deal.

I have to admit I am disappointed with the response to this deal. As someone who has owned both an 8800GT and now a G92 8800GTS I would recommend the GTS over the GT to anyone who had the extra cash to spend. The GT was a good make (an EVGA SSC), but wasn't stable at its clocked speeds, it also ran very hot > 90 deg C, EVGA even produced a bios fix to make the fan ramp up faster but it would still lock up even after this was applied. In the end I had to RMA it and I was lucky enough to pick up a GTS for 7 quid more. The GTS runs cooler, can overclock far beyond the speeds the GT was running at using the stock cooler (mine will go to 800/2000 and still stay below 90 degrees).

The GT is a great card but in the end this deal was about a price on a GTS, most sellers have GTS cards going for > £210 so being able to pick one up for £187 including delivery seemed pretty good to me.

Oh well, won't bother posting anymore deals on here if this is the kind of response you get...

I must admit I was VERY disapointed in the reponse i got to posting 8800GT 512MB Overclocked for £127 from Amazon.

This is, & still is a BARGAIN and reading the reviews - one of the best GT's released!

I guess there's no satisfying some people!

This is HOT. For the price there is no graphics card on earth as powerfull as an 8800GTS. This IS the cheapest 8800 GTS (G92 GPU) available in the UK so it is a great deal.

Shame on people for voting this cold without grounds. Please show a better card for this price before poo pooing a good find.

edit: The product number on dabs website indicates the card manufacturer is Inno3d which is a very big brand.

Thanks OP! Got one of these earlier this week, cannot wait for it to arrive.

Ignore the cold votes, its just people feeling sorry for themselves they bought something other than this brilliant bargain

-edit

Out of stock now - I hope dabs use a proper cart system so they can honour my order :w00t:

This was a great post. Don't be disheartened OP, I think Nvidia are to blame because of their dodgy sku numbering.

Krispie - dont be put off by the cold votes. Some people are very simple and they just vote cold without knowing the facts or finding a better deal. I have long argued for people voting cold to be forced to say why, and post a better deal. So far its fallen on deaf ears.

I think some people are comparing this with the old GTS as new ones never usually go more than the old price (£180). This is not bad for a deal. Voted hot.

sorry to bring up a old thread but this is the "dabs value" card and so that may put people off, id rather stick with bfg as there warrenty is lifetime, thats just me though. Voted warm
