Price too high to compete with RX480 and 1060

I still think these are great cards, despite the whole VRAM fiasco. If you game at 1080P you don't need anything more than this and won't for some time to come. Still I got mine a few months ago at £150 used and it was a rarer ITX model, so I definitely think this is on the pricey side, they need to come down but seems greedy retailers want to squeeze every last penny out of them as per usual....

Although would recommend the gaming model of this card from MSI

£150 should be about right now with new cards.

Not worth it. For £100 more you can get a much better card that will be future proofed for a good few years realistically for 90% of titles.

No such thing as future proof when it comes to GPUs I paid £900 for a titan X 12 months ago and now there is a £400 card that is on par with it, making the resale value even less than that and now there is the new Titan X for the same price that I paid so my card is now considered outdated after just 12 months

Lesson... never buy Titan cards. They are always overpriced.

Scorching for a quid more 5 weeks ago. Posted for £183 gets +734 heat 3 days ago. £16 more and it's -183. Classic HUKD!

I am also in the "you'd be better off getting a 1060 or 480 around this price range" camp though..

Yeah this, Titan are expensive as they are squeezing maximum possible performance out of the current architecture. But as soon as the next generation hits they are made redundant by hugely superior price/performance ratios.

5 weeks ago the 1060 wasn't available.

199.00 isn't a good price right now.

They have 4 cards at the same price! The 1060 is going for 229.99

These are, right now, the 'going rate'. So someone posting a deal that is exactly the price that everyone is selling at... Isn't hot!

I agree with that. But it's weird that it got so hot 5 weeks ago. Everybody knew the GTX 1060 was imminent.

If I was a newbie who bought that card 5 weeks ago because I saw it hot on here, then logged in today to see the same thing now freezing, I'd feel a bit rinsed.

There was a lot of fear the 1060 wouldn't be so affordable.

People were expecting the base price to be closer to 250... It's not. We are seeing a lot of models around the 228 price point.

Now that we've seen the 1060 in high stock, at affordable prices, the market is happy to reduce the going rate on the 970.
