SOLD OUT. Glad I bought now phew!

Reload an Amazon.com Gift Card before purchase with $100 to get an extra $5 free. Brings the overall price pretty much the same as UK with the possibility of getting import fees back making it even cheaper.

Import item. Exclusive for prime members. You have to take a 30 day prime trial to purchase the item. Import fees likely refunded which could make item as cheap as £145 delivered. I suggest this as all orders i've placed on Amazon.com import fees were subsequently refunded. These orderes Included a Shield Console and a Shield Portable, both purchased before UK launch.

Is there any writing on Amazon website regarding there will refund any import fees please so I can take screenshot capture to avoid any dispute with them?

Good tablet. Has been as low as £135 on Amazon in the past and £149 regularly. Now it's been discontinued (and no replacement) people are taking the pee with prices!

Hot deal as this is the probably cheapest way of getting one.

No, and no

you are at the grace of the ineptitude of the customs dept in this country....what seems to be happening is they are so short staffed anything Amazon they are just waving through, and Amazon being a trustworthy company refund you if they dont get charged

simple as that.... you pay a deposit to Amazon, if Customs take that deposit you don't get a refund, if they send it on to you without the customs charge they dont charge Amazon so you get the money back

it is a gamble, a toss of the coin, a shot in the dark....some you win some you lose....everyone has been winning at the moment

This has consistently happened to every order I have placed via Amazon.com

Last time I imported a Nvidia product from Amazon.com see user comments claiming import fees refunded:

Very tempted to go for this. Any cons at all?

No cons. If you do it the way I suggest you end up with the item at the same price you'd pay if it were in stock in the UK with the potential bonus that you will get your import fees back making it even cheaper. These devices don't come with a usb or power adapter Nvidia did this to bring costs down, so make sure you factor that should you purchase. I've been waiting for the model to come back in stock in the UK for months! At least this way you pay pretty much the same price as UK but if import fees get refunded it could be costing as little as £145 overall. Much better to buy this than the naff lenovo tablets people keep post on hukd. This tab is a bargain beast.

So definitely confirmed as no more being produced? And no other models to be released?

Thanks gone for this. I am not expecting stock to come back to the UK at all weirdly so at sub 200 for a very good tablet I'm not going to complain. If I get the bonus £30 back then excellent. Will that just be automatically refunded after delivery? I went for the slightly speedier delivery option for $3 extra. Thanks. Added heat from me

From what ive read online a new version of the tablet has been scrapped due to something with the upcoming Nintendo nx. Wether they get around making more of this model I dont know. Seems silly of them not to considering the huge demand still!

I know that we are to expect a new shield TV in 2017 maybe they are just putting all of their time into that? As the demand for those is even bigger

Import fees tend to get refunded a couple of weeks after delivery. But as I keep saying I've always been given a refund on import fees.
