So, I was checking this deal out for my sister and her fiancee and it looks like o2 is giving away 2 months free on ANY broadband package.

Quidco is currently tracking at £50 per month. (NOW TRACKING AT £60)

If you take the Standard Package, this is how the maths can work out for you (based on first 12 months)
At £7.34 per month, 2 months free, so only 10 months are payable. thats £73.40 for the year, then deduct £50 quidco from that = £23.40. Divide that over 12 months, and monthly cost essentially works out to be £1.95 a month. (IF QUIDCO DOES INDEED TRACK AT £60, THEN COST IS ONLY £1.12 PER MONTH)

For the other packages,. Premium would be £3.68 per month, and Pro would equal £8.66 per month.

EDIT: Link to comment in topic showing that Quidco is actually tracking at £60 now.

I was looking at this earlier, not sure if they will pay the quidco. It has a note below the offer saying the 2 months free can't be used in conjunction with other offers. Could other offers include quidco?
#2
Doubt it. Ill give it a go in 2 days time when ordering broadband for my sister.

You would assume though that quidco has to work, else why offer quidco currently.

Theres no way to opt out of the 2 months free.
#3
Fingers crossed then:) I'm looking for a broadband deal for my daughters student house for next year. Don't know why this deal has been voted cold, as it looks good to me:?

If anyone has a better deal and that's why this is going cold, it would be good to share it?

I signed up 2months back when the offer was £70 with Quidco and three months free.
The Quidco is currently showing as validated and I am still in my free months.

Same here, although I have already had my £70.00 and still within my 3 free months. Broadband speed is a lot faster than BT was here and I am very glad that I moved!

Reassuring to see such good feedback for O2.
Pity we missed the cheaper deal, though this one still looks a good price to me

That may not be the case with this deal!

"There's a one year minimum contract (no matter how long any O2 mobile contract you have is, or whether you use O2 for your mobile). When you sign up, we'll send you the O2 Broadband Pack which contains everything you need to get started easily."

Also £50 through Topcashback and they paid out within 60 days when it was £70 cb.

just joined o2 broadband last week when it was £70 quidco , validated already

the change was smooth with no problems at all ,stick in the cd and follow simple instructions. The speed is even quicker than my old orange. i am now getting a d/l speed of over 5 compared to my old 1.5 . I know its still slow but the best i can get.

Would recommend , only hiccup was e mail server setings but phoned freephone number , got through to Uk call centre , they took remote control of computer and fixed everything . Much better than orange which cost about £1 a minute to some call centre in mumbai and cost a fortune.

I joined O2 about 5 weeks ago, got 2 months free and £50 Quidco is still showing as tracked. I went for Premium, I must say that the Wireless Box II is an absolute piece of crap, it get very hot and reboots when it feels like. I've since chucked it in a cupboard and got a Netgear DG834GT, put DGTeam firmware on it, lowered the SNR margin to 0.6 and am just about managing 8mb which is 1mb better than it was with the Wireless Box II thing, the Netgear is nice and stable. I was with Virmin Media on 10mb, oh how I don't miss their traffic shaping!

Had o2 for 3-4 weeks now - much quicker than my sky was and very smooth and informative change of -

0 complaints for me!

Quidco validated the day after but doesn't pay until your free period is over!

Took out o2 broadband when it was £70 quidco. My PAYG mobile is on o2 - should be fine to meet the £10 / 3 monthly top-up.

Get connected (migrating from Sky) today... so far everything has been smooth - they kept me informed every step of the way and I got my migration date quickly as well as delivery of the router. Live metres from the exchange so can get up to 19 MB - gone for 8 though....

why is this soooooo cold ???? Excellent deal
#20
It went super ice cold when i first posted it last night which confused me.

I think its soooooooopa hot and ill be ordering this all tomorrow! :)
#21

Another happy customer here, signed up on the 29th of June when the Quidco was £70, they had the router to me by the 1st of July and I was online on the 3rd; entire process took less than a week. Fantastic service.
#23
used to get 3.5mb with crappy BT but now get 14mb with o2!!!:-D
#24
Can't believe I forgot about the cashback when I signed up 2 months ago :(
#25
Got connected yesterday. Had a few teething issues with the router. Signal strength varied wildly and it would drop altogether. One quick (free) phonecall and with my symptoms the guy had a hunch straightaway. He logged on to my router, changed the channel......and bish bash bosh - all working fine. He also said I could get up to 21 Meg.... speedtest shows 10...paying for 8.
#26
i'd love to switch to o2. moving flats and the connection there is with talktalk and it seems utter rubbish. does anyone know what the minimum contract available with o2 broadband is? is there anything that's month to month?

thanks!

okay, two questions:
1) I'm currently with BT and i'd like opinions on whether O2 is definitely faster and better than bt or else what's the point?
2) currently have belkin wireless set up, but is it a must to use the O2 wireless box?

All opinions would be greatly appreciated as i'd like to make a decision once and for all.

Contract is 12 months. Be offer a month-by-month package, but you also have to pay a connection fee and higher monthly rate.

Unfortunately that will go down mate. I was paying for 8 initially and had much higher speeds - it went down after a few days to what I was paying for.

Not as good as previous deal of £70 Quicdo + 3 months free on Premium 20MB package (worked out to be approx £18 for the year) but this is still good!

From what I have read on various forums, you should only get O2 if your local exchange is O2 LLU enabled. If not, you will be on the Access package (£17.13 per month) which is what most compaints are about. Have been on O2 LLU for 2 months now, no problems so far :) Check your exchange here:

http://www.samknows.com/broadband/search.php

Amount of cashback that Quidco offer on O2 does vary a lot from time to time.

Been with O2 over a year and just renewed my contract in May and got 3 months free on a 1 year contract. Simply fantastic service and had no problems at all. If you are not an O2 phone customer then you can still get the £7.34 deal by finding a friend who uses O2 phone and linking up their number with your broadband account. I have done it that way and I was advised by O2 to do so. Don't forget to get your friend's permission as O2 will check the number by sending a text message with a verification code and you may need to pass the verification code to O2.

Nor me, I'm half a K too far away from the exchange!

really tempted by this im on be broadband 12.00 a month package it says i have to give one months notice to cancel
whats the fastest way of swapping providers without losing my internet for a few days?
#37
Been an O2 broadband customer for over 1year and it is excellent.

£50 + 2 months free is not the best offer. I got it last week for £70 quidco when moving my dad over to O2 Broadband.
#38
pity O2 don't have a newsgroup service
#39
Just switched from Orange to O2 actually with £70 quidco... Already validated, and the switch was done in less than two weeks.
