Just tried to upgrade my o2 broadband but my area doesnt support the faster service but they offered to renew my contract at cheaper rate of £5 instead of the usual £7.34 for o2 mobilephone and broadband pack

£7.34? You checked your bill lately? Since VAT went back up to 17.5% its returned to its original £7.50 which to me is a stonking good deal, great service and great customer service.

They wouldn't budge on the price with us though even if we signed up for another 12 months, we will have been with them 2 years come April too.

I pay £7.50 a month on my last renewal on the 20 meg service and got 3 months free too. I can't fault O2 at the moment living within 100 metres of an exchange also helps too.

Oh dont remind me, was sorting the loft out earlier this week tidying it and found the lovely computer up there! Along with a box full of paperwork from the "case"! Surprisingly enough it actually booted up first time when i connected it up to test it! it never did that before it used to take 2-3 restarts due to some "ntldr" error its now been passed on through freecycl.

Still using the monitor though from the deal:-D

You cannot expect to go through life with no problems, to me its not about if something goes wrong, its all about how they handle it, reasons we have called customer service:

1) Router kept dropping line at first, they immediately offered to either send a replacement with newer firmware or email me the firmware upgrade (let them email it)

2) A billing problem as they didnt get our direct debit as we was changing banks, so our fault, realised 2 weeks after due payment:oops:. They was fine about it.

3) Router died after 18 months of being on 24/7, received replacement by special delivery at 8am next day.

Hardly major issues. The call centre is freephone, calls answered quickly and operators you can understand

Last time I renewed my mobile contract they gave me free home BB for a long as I stated with o2 mobile - or so I thought but after 14 months they have started charging me. THey could find note o the screen re free home boradband but couldn't confirm the for life deal...and as it was over a year they had wiped the tapes so couldn't go back and see what the cs rep had said to me. Still it means I can now be a new customer when I move and use quidco to get another year for next to nowt and can shop around for my mobile renewal (last deal 600 mins unlimited texts mobile and home broadband for 11 quid a month)

I got a question not regarding to this offer.
As a new customer if you take a O2 Premium broadband (£10/mth) for 12 months, can you downgrade to O2 standard (£7.5/mth) after few months?.
