About £5.17 for those who dont have an O2 mobile phone contract.

O2 Premium (unlimeded downloads, upto 20 meg speeds) Broadband £9.79 pm for O2 customers. First 3 months are free until Jan 31st. Sign up via Quidco to get £70 cashback!

So for O2 Customers (who are on an O2 mobile phone contract) ...

£9.79 x 9 = £88.11

£88.11 - £70 Quidco = £18.11

£18.11 divided by 12 = £1.50 pm (£1.5091)

For non-O2 customers ...

£14.68 x 9 = £132.12

£132.12 - £70 Quidco = £62.12

£62.12 divided by 12 = £5.17 pm (5.1766). Still pretty cheap!

Note - Quidco £70 cashback expires 19/01/09.

Ok I know this has been posted before but as Quidco have put the cashback for O2 Broadband back up to £70 I thought it deserved a posting again!

Deals should not include quidco, as it is not guaranteed.

Dont forget you will need a BT Landline for this, and it is subject to you being in the "O2 Broadband Area" but looks good. Expect some plack about including quidco as its not guaranteed so shouldn't be included.

alas no good for me as I'm on 3 Network and With Virgin on a £35 bundle for TV Broadband and Phone. If I was O2 I would probably look at switching but
£11 line rental + £5 Broadband + ??? (£16 Sky Package? or Freesat HD and loose Jack Bauer?) Would mean I wouldn't save that much.

Sorry, I have updated the title to show the cost with out Quidco.

Would just like to add that the tracking rate with O2 Broadband via Quidco is very high. Everyone I know who purchased via Quidco have tracked (just remember to clear those cookies!).

I believe the OP got their expiry date wrong as I was on quidco yesterday and they where paying only £25 for O2 Broadband.

Ooops, just noticed they extended the expire date! Sorry for the repost!

Yeah it's a good deal and quidco nearly always tracks ok. I did it late last november. I even bought a cheap O2 sim card as you only have to top up £10 every three months to be an active customer and save £5 per month, so I save money by topping up a card I do not use very much. When I did it, quidco was £60.

With Quidco, it could be quite a bit longer than that - Don't think I have had any cash back through the system that quick!

However the good news is, my 40 quid for signing up to Bethere (same network as the O2 broadband) has finally been validated, although not without a bit of shouting for the right details via the support system, and also on the support forum so I could push through a query to claim it. I was not sent this information in the fist place, so make sure you keep all your paperwork, and shout up if you don't have the right info sent!

How do you know if you are in the "O2 Broadband Area"?
#10
And be prepared for disappointment. I am an O2 customer and got all excited about a £7 a month broadband deal. When I gave them my postcode I got oh sorry we dont do it in your areas its £17.99 a month. pah.
#11
I went for the next package up. Not with O2 Mobile, but the £70 Quidco, unlimited downloads and first three months free sold it for me, Currently connected at 9Mbps so I'm well happy. For those of you using alternate email, be aware they bock port 25. I spent ages trying to work out why my outgoing email wasn't going anywhere. You need to change all your ouging mail servers to relay.o2broadband.co.uk:):)

Awesome, will be switching my house and my parent's house over thanks to this. :)

I've been on o2 broadband for 12 months now and can't fault it. Their service has been excellent. I live near to the exchange so I get the full 8MB I signed up for. Also their upload speed is about 1MB which is twice the speed of virgins 10MB package. If you want to find out where the BT exchange is near you, I found this site on the internet that explains how to do it.

http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/forums/index.cfm?action=showthread&threadid=211286&forumid=2

extract from site....

'For security reasons BT doesn't give out the locations of their exchanges, not very helpful if your interested in these new 24 meg broadband providers and want to know how much bandwith your going to lose due to distance.

However, I jsut discovered a little trick to find them. Goto the Royal mail web page click here and click on the postcode finder, you'll need to register to use it. Type "British Telecom" in the business name and your town name. It will then list all the exchanges near you.'

Well that's a lot of tripe....

Good deal, voted hot. Should just add that BT upon being asked for the MAC code immediately dropped the Option 1 price to £7.49. I was so chuffed I didn't bother pushing for more (cannot get O2 where I am). Also worth checking on the Sam Knows site given above whether your exchange has been deregulated as this will dictate how aggressively the ISPs will pursue your custom.
#17
Thats the upto 8mb you have priced for not the upto 20mb which costs a bit more
#18
Are O2 downloads really unlimited? IE do they throttle or kick you off IF you downloaded 24/7? Im with UKFSN/Entanet and although they they do NOT monitor downloads they only give me 2mb even though Im capable of 16mb :(

No its not tripe, the 'whole point' of Samknows is the fact that BT refuse to give out the locations of their exchanges. Samknows is built from information sourced from outside of BT, information they found themselves, in order to help people since BT wont.

I am on bethere and done the Quidco cashback, it came through perfectly after 1-2 months, I did not have to query it at all.

You do not need any paperwork at all. Even if there was a problem, it is 'Quidco' they pay not you, and it is Quidco who are supposed to query it and get the money for you, you are not supposed to ring up about cashback and demand it, Quidco deal with everything, this will be why you had problems.

The money is never supposed to go directly to you, and since they are paying quidco the money dealing with you is just unneeded hastle.

The only details Quidco would have needed was your account name and anything that would link you with the account, which if you had your internet set up you would have without having to hastle Betheres support team.

quidco shows

unless im missing something?

I have loads of O2 SIM cards in their packs - do I need to first get one of these out and top up with £10 before starting the process and be considered an existing customer?

or can I just get one and start signing up now? Also if I want to later transfer my current mobile number from ASDA to O2 does anyone this there will be any issues?

I want to leave sky anyway, simply because I don't want to be tied to them and I'm dissapointed with how pathetic their TV over IP service is

Also what is the basic O2 Broadband box like? Does it do anything special? I know Orange's box has VOIP to PSTN sockets built in

I have just moved over from AOL to o2. I was swiched over last night and when on I found it was not what the saleman told me. I called to kick up a fuss and they gave me the whole deal including all the wireless equipment on the top package FREE for 12 months.
It was the AOL format that I was looking for and they told me theres was almost the same, only to find its done through internet explorer. This is why they offered me this deal.
So as its free and alot faster than my old AOL connection I have kept it.
There customer service is one of the best I have delt with...ever
The tech chap even helped me out with a problem in my computer that was nothing to do with what I called for and ended up on the phone for 1hr 20mins....even the call to them is FREE.

******! I switched from cable back to BT for this cashback deal! My BT line is being 'installed' (reconnected!) on the 21st and I completely forgot to check the expiry date on this cashback, however the 3 months free O2 offer is still on till the end of Jan.

Can I ask, I'm moving into a house next saturday. It says you need a current BT line, do you have to pay for a rental for that? I'm originally from Hull and we dont have BT there (its a very special place ha). So to get this O2 deal, would you have to sign up to a BT line rental too??? Do BT also have minimum contracts?

Finally, as I'm renting, can you transfer these deals to diff addresses?

Of course you need BT, How do you expect to get internet through the phoneline without an active phoneline? If you pay your line rental through someone else then ask them about it. But at very least you need to have an active phoneline.

Edit//

Just looked it up, if you are in Hull you have to get the Kingston Communications Karoo broadband option or Hull24, there is no other option for you.

ROFL I would hate to live in hull, just look at these prices for severly restricted broadband at only 8MB/sec http://www.karoo.co.uk/broadband/
