Not to sure where to post this so Mod's please move if i've done it wrong.

I've been with o2 for a few months now on the £45 1200 mins 500 texts package.

I seem to send over 700-800 messages a month so my average bill was 80 quid ish.

I just phoned o2 and they have changed me to £40ppm 1200 mins and unlimited texts!!

There isn't a minimum period you have to wait and no renewal on the contract!

Hope this saves a few people some money!

unfortunately there is a minimum period, you have to be with o2 for 9 months before you can downgrade a contract to a lower monthly payment.

This is just a change to the new tariffs that were brought in at the beginning of the year isn't it? Less minutes but unlimited texts excluding MMS. I thought every one can change to them!

Yeah am sure your right
I was tempted to change to the new tariff but decided against it as all MMS messages are charged under the new tariffs instead of coming out of your txt allowance on the old contracts.
I may change in the near future as had my contract for 9 months and on the £45 tariff but get 30% discount through the o2 open discount so it does me for now as pay £32 for a £45 contract

I have checked with o2. The downgrade deal is available for any customer as it is just a change in the price plans they offer so older customers are entitled to do so with no minimum time.

Sorry if this has already been done!

£15 a month for 300 anyone texts and 50 anyone peak minutes. Also includes 150 off peak anyone minutes and 1000 texts/minutes to my top friends, and £10 credit on my phone. Very old o2 PAYG customer here. hehehe.

Nothing to do with the Iphone ppl, just wanted to be included. :)

hi, my wife (at the time my girlfriend) signed up last year to a tariff that cost £35
a month and she got a free mobile and a free laptop.

Well, she lost her job within this period, and she tried to get out of her contract,
well she couldnt without paying over £200, which when she had no money was
ridiculous.

Well, we ended up putting the phone on my account and asking to reduce the
traiff, we now pay £20 a month. Which isnt suitable.

Since, then ive noticed that the simplicity cards offer a very good deal, which
is better when you apply for a 12month contract. Its only £10 a month for 300mins
and unlimted text and unlimted 02 calls.

If you pay £15 you get 600mins aswell.

so im going to reduce her orginal tariff and get her one of these,
seems the cheapest option.
