I see some 3 month deals on the site , dont see no 11 x £1.99 a month deals ????

------------------------------------

oh edit ...........

actually , i just seen the small print....
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

12 Month Cheque Back Terms and Conditions

Send your 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th monthly bills within 60 days of the date stated on the relevant redemption claim form, to us and we will credit you by cheque with 25% of the total amount at each redemption period*

This will save you the stated amount over the 12 month duration of the contract.

*Approximately 25%, the combined total of all Four Cheques will be equal to the stated amount.
----------------------------------------------------------------

So we pay and have to remember to claim.....within a certain period.....

Think i'll give it a miss.

That's the way almost all discounted line rental deals work.
There are several spreadsheets etc available on the net to help you work out when to send the bills off. (just check on here or mse)
Obviously it's not for you if you will forget to claim the cashback on time:p:whistling:

they do this because they take all your money, keep hold of it in a VERY high interest account, with all the other customers and when its time to pay out, they have generated sooo much money they actually make profit on the interest.
very clever but phones for you are good with payouts.

so voted hot.

I don't think that's strictly true. They make the money by a combination of :
1. People not reclaiming their cash in time
2. People continuing with the contract after the intial contract period
3. Possibly (but unlikely to be much) earn interest on your money

you dont pay phones4u. you pay o2 for their contract as usual. phones4u pay you back. no "intrest" involved. They get paid by o2 because they are referring customers to o2 ect. and they hope people forget for claim but seriously.... who would?

Last point we agree with each other... ITS HAWT!

If you were so skint put three to four months worth of real tarrif in a new account (£90-£120) AND DONT GO OVER YOU CALLS.

buy the time the first cashback hits your account it will be able to pay the next few months bills for you... you dont get £308.11 in one lump at the and. it is split every three months... not sounding too bad when you do the math now?

if you haven't got £120 in an account then GET OFF THE INTERNETS! or do you just check the "freebies" part of the site....

Also, being a clearance item at Phones4U, it's second hand and might not come in the original packaging.

All clearance phones I've bought from them have been second-hand and only half come in the original packaing. All have been in good cosmetic order, however.

Just so you know...

sorry not quite with it !

after 6 months youve paid 6 x £30 = £180 you get 25% back = £45
then on the 8 month youve paid 2 more months of £30 = £60 you get back 25% = £15
then on the 10 month youve paid 2 more months of £30 = £60 you get back 25 % = £15
then on the 12 month youve paid 2 more months of £30 = £60 you get back 25% = £15

total back is £90 ?? !! ?? how do they / you get £308

They give you 25% of the total amount. Therefore they give you £77 after 6, 8, 10, and 12 months.

for 11 months you pay 1.99.
30-1.99=28.01
28.01*11=308.11
308.11 split into 4 equal parts is £77 pounds
You should get 77 pounds after 6, 8, 10 and 12 months.
Hope that helps
#16
so ;

you pay £30 a month = £360 ,

then you get 4 lots of £77 back by redemption = £308.11 . so it equals you paying £1.99 for 11 months .

i'm sort of with ya now !

About half of cashback customers forget or don't claim at the right time.
#18
last time , i drew up a letter on pc , and did 4-5 copies with envelopes ready with redemption dates on them . then just waited for the correct bill statements , photocopied them and sent recorded delivery . no problems at all .

just ordered one !! through quidco too !!

HOT !! HOT !! HOT !!
#19
FOR 110% chance for you to get your money back, make sure you send the form RECORDED DELIVERY (1st or 2nd) which will make sure someone has to sign for it on the other end, i was conned 3 times by phones4u and dial a phone over the fact they "never received my claim" apparently, but a friend who use to work for both company's said that is the main way they made there money.

i reported it to watchdog but nothing happened...

As long as there is proof you send it on time you will get your money, otherwise don't bother.

recorded delivery will cost you about a pound .

#22
that deal would work out:

£420 -
£315 (9month free by redemption) =
£105 - Quidoco £50 on contract =

TOTAL of £55 for brand new SE K850i, 4800Minutes to any network, 6000 sms to any uk network & 3months FREE Insurance.

No good?
#23
Great stuff! Just ordered it, hopefully everything will go through and it will arrive. Just need to make sure I claim on time!

Can anyone suggest a good website explaining how to claim back the money properly?

mate it is simple, they send you a form, you send it back with the front page of that months bill... send it recorded delivery 1st class and you will get your money.
#27
im tempted but i am unemployed at the moment and i already have 2 contracts on DD! i will wait until my o2 ends in November and see what deals are up for grabs then! i love threatening networks I'm leaving for another network, they give you the best deals! lol
#28
btw, quidco are stating £50, not £60...?
#29
these cashback deals are fine if you're organised or don't have a lot going on in your life. HOT. I have done this 2x before and never had a problem claiming! I'm organised, hehe.
#30
Good deal voted hot. I have used e2save for the last few years without problems, but they dont have any decent offers at the moment. Voted hot and rep added.

i got #15 quid not 77 and am organised and end contract in 3 mths
#35
hot deal but apparently the phone isn't great - really difficult to send texts and browse the web :(
#36
its a shame its a crudd phone, otherwise i wouldve got this.
also quidco is £50 not £60, as someone said above.
#37
AVOID AT ALL COSTS............

whats to stop them saying they didnt recieve your cheque in time ( or at all ) and voiding the deal ?

not worth the risk, no way, not for a phone............
#38
Cashback offers are too much hassle and too much risk. I've been conned by one stop phone shop despite sending them my claim in time via recorded delivery.

You end up paying more than you would have on a conventional contract.
#39
Its phone4u, that should be enough for people to stay clear. If your unsure of what sort of company they are, do some searching.

I would avoid.

Something called recorded delivery, where the date of delivery is recorded?

And I have had a Phones4u deal this year, always paid promptly so far, no fuss.
