I had been holding out to upgrade to a 5800 nokia but as it has been out of stock for weeks i asked about other mobiles available on the discounted £35 to £20 tarif for retention.
Was happy with this as it includes the free blackberry bolt on for unlimited internet and emails.
Had to wait a while for the 8900 to be instock but thought it was a better deal than the 5800.
Also available was the the Blacberry 9000 bold for an extra £50.
18 month contract, works out £360 for the term, about the price of the Curve alone.
Phone 202 from your o2 number and choose options 2 and 2 for retentions.

Not online you have to phone them.

Amazing deal, i hope i can get this for my upgrade in 2 months or so time!
#6
they offered me this at £25 also the xda zest for £25???? how did you get them down to £20 what do you recomneded zest or the black berry
#7
the simplicity deal is £19.98 a month for 1200 texts 600 minutes and a free bolt on, plus every 3 months they give you a treat which is additional minutes, texts etc...your choice, plus you are not tied in for 18 months.

With that said, O2 are bascially giving you the handset free for the commitment, so a good deal for those wanting a contract!!

gotta be a good deal - but a deal this low may mean you've had to previously be a big spender.

last deal i got (6 months ago) was an XDA ignito (HTC touch diamond) for 18 months, 600 mins, 1000 texts, unlimited web for £30 instead of £35.

i'm happy enough with that deal cos i sold my old phone for £200 which reduced my monthly bills to the range of a sim only type price.

Didnt think i was that big of a spender, but did have several previous contracts with them. Was on £30 contract for 12months (12mnth free cashback deal), and didnt go over often.
#10
sorry but this isnt really a "deal" as such for the masses, the reason you got it was because length of time with o2, and average spend, retention deals are always done on a case by case basis
#11
any one know of any O2 12 month contract , 12 month cashback deals ?

i looked and i cant find any !

are these all gone now for O2 ?

need O2 because of broadband discount :-)

thanks if any of you have some links

:-)

Just got one thanks mate 18 month contract but phone worth £300 on ebay :) an excellent deal !!
hot hot hot !!!

i got this deal a few months ago. and got an extra 1000 texts. i love my curve. it does depend on how much you spend and whether if you have previously had a retentions deal. My friend couldn't get the same deal as she previously had a retentions deal.
#14
As someone said, these deals depend very much on your O2 profile (which they base on various usage factors) and your negotiation skills on the phone.

Some people will get good deals, and some won't. It all depends.............

Don't give up, though. My usage is low, and I've never paid a penny over the monthly contract price, but I still got a 24 month contract costing (after the £150 resign credit) only £3.75 a month for 200 minutes and 400 texts, plus unlimited free minutes to landlines.

A far better deal than e2save could offer - and none of the usual e2save cashback hassle.

could any1 explain me what retention deal is ?

Basically, O2 (or any other network for that matter) will offer you an attractive deal, often with a cashback-type credit) to keep you as a customer. You need to be able to persuade them that you're planning to close the account, though.

Exactly.

I used to work in retention for O2, and this isn't a deal for HUKD members, it's purely account specific
#19
Just got this deal, many thanks.
#20
looks like a good deal
#21
thanks just called retentions and got this deal. fab!
#22
is the blackberry phone any good though?
#23
Also got a nice o2 treat choice for 2 of aromatherapy massage/ fly hovercraft/ paintballing (for 4)/ quadbike ride/ flotation treatment/ white-water rafting/ surfing lesson.
#24
My 12 month contract finishes with O2 next week. Have no interest in going back to them until they ditch these obscene 18/24 month contracts.
#25
I've just been on the phone to O2 retentions ... they've been calling me every day for the last week or so. Thought it sounded a bit dodgy at first but I can confirm that 08458630287 is O2 retentions.

Anyway after some negotiation I managed to get a similar deal to the one mentioned above but slightly better:

- Free Blackberry Curve 8900
- 800 Minutes (any-time any-network)
- 1200 Text Messages
- Unlimited Backberry Usage

All for £20 a month! I chose to take out the optional insurance which was £7.50 a month bringing the total to £27.50 a month ..

Just play it cool and try and get more out of them ... they usually will be able to sort it out.

Excellent find! Voted HOTT!

Narctox: was that a 12 month or 18 month contract?

Insurance isn't the same as a guarantee/warranty. The latter only covers faults with the handset, not things like theft/loss/water damage/accidental damage.

Cool got the same deal on minutes txt free web etc before I read this but got the Sony C905!
#30
i sold the blackberry i got and the o2 dongle and now the contract is equal to £5 per month.
#31
OK, just got off the phone and got:

200mins + 400 texts on a 18 month contract at 9.50ish per month inc Vat.

£150 credit, making it £1.20ish per month. I am happy.
#32
Thats a really good deal. I just got a deal with the phone exactly same as you for £25 with the free phone, they really didn't want to give away a free phone
