Right just been on the phone to o2. I have a simplicity contract which is something like £19.58 per month (until vat goes back up then will be £20) but they informed me they do a iPhone Simplicity contract now which is simplicity still the same 30 days and still the same price as mine, you get 1200 txts and 600 minutes BUT you now get free wifi, unlimited browsing, free visual voice mail etc. basically all the stuff the usual iPhone contact gives you but more minutes and more texts

Searched and couldnt find this posted so hopefully not a duplicate

buy it pay and go, this is more of a deal for people with an existing iphone
#4
SIM plicity - SIM only. You have to have the iPHone already I presume...
#5
excellent, i have been wanting to move off a long contract to something like this for my out of contract iphones
#6
Very useful to know. Heat added.
#7
Do you still get a free bolt on i.e free O2 to O2 calls? Or is the wifi 3G roaming classed as the bolt on?
#8
I'm pretty sure the unlimited wi-fi counts as the bolt on.

They also do a blackberry bolt on with unlimited web for £20 a month for anyone that's interested.
#9
I'm waiting on hold for them now - gonna try to get my current simplicity SIM switched over to this (I'd love visual voicemail again).
#10
I spoke to them earlier and they said this tariff is due any time now but not yet? Would like to know if it is as I have ordered the standard sim for the minute.:x
#11
If you're on a 12 month simplicity contract you cannot switch to this because they only do it as a 30 day contract (I'm going to ring up and complain to high heaven tomorrow when a manager's in as I don't think it's fair that people on a 30 day contract get wifi and more importantly visual voicemail).

She also said that they aren't allowed to add visual voicemail onto existing contracts. Basically she said everything I didn't want to hear - yet again O2's lack of loyalty shows through. I wouldn't mind if I was just a new customer trying my luck but I've been with them for years - although with recent network issues etc that may change.

WTF how can this say iPhone in the title if you already need to have the phone....

Might as well start a post for Ferrari with tank of petrol for £60.... you just need to already own the Ferrari and drive into a petrol station......
#13
I have a jailbroken 2g iphone, currently on Tesco mobile (fur coat and no knickers I know) - does anyone know for sure - could I take this simplicity sim from o2, just reset my phone and start again with the latest firmware?

I've had no problems with the iphone, it's just a pain searching for and installing new firmwares.
#14
this aint a deal. its just the standard £20 pm with the wifi bolt on included. a lot better deal posted here several times for the same tariff but 12 month contract (with more allowance) PLUS £100 quidco

maybe because its specifically for the iPhone, no point in giving you visual voicemail etc for any other phone is there?, and thats what the tariff is called "Simplicity for iPhone"

Wrong, as you get visual voicemail also and you couldnt have unlimited web if you have wifi bolt-on where with this you can!

o2 monitor useage of their "iphone" sims and disconnect the unlimited 3g and wireless for people who are not using iphones which is why the title is correct
#21
this is pretty good im right bored of unlocking iphones.

Cracking deal, will probably go back to this when my current contract finishes

On the iPhone, instead of having to call a number to listen and see what voicemails you have, they are displayed on your phone as messages. You can play/pause/delete/save/fastforward/rewind/skip etc all on one little bar.

O2 will unlock any iPhone that has been under contract for 12 months, you just call them up and ask them to do it, and they do it!

This is an awesome deal and I'll be calling O2 tomorrow to see if I can change over!
#27
My iphone has never been under contract with anyone for any amount of time :)

Thanks for explaining visual voicemail, appreciated.
#28
Why is this being voted down? It's an absolutely awesome tariff for the iPhone.

Yeah, just like those deals on tv for carpets, they don't mention you have to have a house first!

You are talking utter rubbish.
#31

Thank you

.. on my second iphone sim in a dongle for near enough 8mth now , no probs whatsoever, it's never been back inside an iphone since the first setup!
#33
been on this for 6 months £20 a month talk 600 and 1000 texts plus a free bolt on, i had unlimited interenet i think you get free wi-fi aswell not £100 sure.

went out and bought a second hand 3g iphone 8gb for £220 not looked back since ,no big 18 month or 24 month contract just 30 days....
#34
very interesting deal... though i just called customer services and they were unaware of this product.

who did you speak to and which department?
#35
I have just called customers services again and can now confirm this deal is correct , the first person who i spoke to did not know anything about the deal but i called back and spoke to a helpfull person who went and found the deal information . Mine starts on my next billing date . Thank you for the heads up on this deal :)
#36
Just phoned O2 customer services on 202 mentioned I was on the Simplicity 30 day contract and they changed me to the O2 simplicity 20 for iPhone. For £20 a month (from Jan due to VAT rise) I get 600 mins 1200 text plus internet and Wifi. Thanks for the heads up, have some heat!!
#37
I can confirm this is true i am on the contract...

I spoke to retentions when i got this contract
#38
Right so let me get this straight, you get the usual contract (in my case 600 mins, 1200 texts, unlimited browsing as the bolt on) as well as free wifi, visual vociemail etc? And you have to ring up for this? As I can't find it on the o2 site.
#39
Still better to go on the 12 month simplicity tariff if you don't need the wifi (who needs that anyway?). £20 a month gets you 1600 txts and 800 mins and unlimited data...
#40
this is great for those who have a iphone contract which will end within a 2 months

i might go over to this, save me £15 per month! then upgrade to new iphone 4th gen when its out in summer!
