Just seen on O2 Shop online that the SIM Only deals have been given 50% more mins and txts.

The names have changed slightly - the now 'Online simplicity 15' has 300 mins 600 txts unltd o2 calls, up from the old 200 mins 400 txts unltd o2 calls. I believe the other tariffs (except £10 one) have also increased by a small amount.

Remains to be seen what happens to us existing customers - although as its a 1 month contract I would expect they would up ours to match!? - or we will just leave and rejoin? will have to wait til their cust services open tomorrow to ask.

(Also, a range of even better deals are available (starting from £20pm) if you commit to 12 months sim only.)

And, of course, £23.33 quidco :)

Awesome. Im on o2 25 with 600 mins, 1000 texts, unlimited o2 calls. Im only paying £20 but now for £19.58 i could get 600 mins, 1200 texts and unlimited o2 calls, and im sure i could squeeze a few quid off seen as thats the online price :)
#2
Don't forget too that as an o2 mobile'r you can get their landline broadband £4.89/m cheaper too - though best offers ONLY if your phone is on an exchange where o2 have their equipment (ie "LLU" broadband).

These are the new Q109 tarrifs. Really good increase!

I'm not 100% sure as I work on upgrades, but I think you have to call to change to the new Q109 tarrif, otherwise you'll stay on your old tarrif (as it's classed as a new tarrif on the system..)

nice to know im on this exact tarriff for one of my sims

Wouldnt happen to know what id go onto would you? As im on o2 25 and o2 20 goes straight to o2 30 now. Cheers.

Edit: Just checked my bill online and it now says online simplicity 20 instead of 25, guess they changed that to 20 some time ago, didnt even realise as i was paying 20 to begin with as a 'special offer', didnt realise it was the normal price now :p

You'd stay on your 25, unless you changed.

.. if that's what you mean?

Do you get free mobile internet with these tarrifs?

Im currently on an iphone tarrif and will cancel when my contract expires.
#8
The O2 shop seems to be offline atm.

I'm on the £20 Online 25 tariff so gonna have to keep an eye on this one.

These sim only deals are getting better and better all the time. I first signed up on sim only with Virgin Mobile about 2 1/2 years ago and got 200 mins and 500 texts which seemed great at the time, especially since most other networks didn't do them back then, but that pales in comparison to ones these days.

You get the choice of a free bolt on on simplicty £20+ which can be unlimited data.

Hard to ignore these Simplicty sims, especially that £19.56 one with the unlimited web data that keeps winking at me ;-)

I am going to call up tomorrow to see if my existing one can be changed over :)
#12
please let us know if your successful at changing to the q109 tarrif.. On second thought, it need not to be that difficult.

Thinking the same thing, signed up for a 6 month contract with three the day before yesterday wonder if I could cancel it?.

Cant you cancel? I would imagine your still under the distance selling act/cooling off period.

That £19.56 is winking at me no more, ordered :-D

The deals from Quidco in conjunction with Vodafone beat this offer.

They cost £5 £7.50 and a tenner a month when the Quidco payment is taken into account.

I appreciate you are not meant to include Quidco payments in deals - but if it does not track - then cancel it.

http://www.quidco.com/vodafone-12-month-sim-only-20-tariff/

The £7.50 and tenner package have unlimited texts, and the tenner has 600 mins.

Does anyone know what the data costs in these packages - as they seem so new no details were up last night?
banned#16
I have an unlocked 2g iphone currently on vodafone

I want to be able to access the internet anywhere (on train, at work, in shops etc)

Which of these packages is the cheapest that offers me that service? is there a reasonable usage limit?

Thanks

That sounds fine IF Quidco pay. Many Vodaphone/Quidco users have been waiting 9 months for payment.

voted hot ! thanks !
just for those who are interested , i was on the previous 15per month deal, simply called the customer service for free from my 02 mobile and a very helpful man changed my deal in a couple of minutes to the new improved 15 per month deal

note:changes dont take effect till next bill payment/next renewal of contract

It took the lady 5 minutes to find out that the packages had changed, but once she had asked her colleague, about this she immediately switched me over from my next billing date :)

but do you have to contact them to get the improved deal or will you automatically get moved onto it?

(OP)

Am also on the £15 per month, and just called up and he switched me to the updated deal :).

In case you are wondering, I did it by calling 202 and choosing upgrade (option 2 i think?). The man did it straight away, said will be active from tomorrow.

((The first time I called I chose 'other enquiries' (5), who said they would put me through to sales, but sales say they cannot upgrade contracts - only give you new ones! So had to call again as above.))

You have to call them... just dial 4445 and select Option 5, followed by Option 2 (I think, lol)! ;-)

si_blue - Option 5 did mine fine :p

I'm on Simplicity 30, which is now £29.38 per month for 1200 minutes, 1000 texts and free web bolt on.

I've just checked the site and the deal is still £29.58 per month-except that it now shows up as 2400 texts....

Or am I missing something?

I agree best offers are with LLU equipment, but you STILL get the £4.89/m if you live in the sticks...

That could well be right. All I could see was that all of them had gone up - but as I am on the 15 deal I only know exactly how much that one went up by!

So to summarise what we now know:
£10: the same
£15: 100 more mins, 200 more txts
£20: 200 more txts
£30: 1400 more txts
#27
I assume I have to ring the badgers at CPW to change mine?
#28
o2 are getting stingy!!
I switched to the Simplicity 15 (200 mins 400 texts) back in October at the end of my contract, and they gave me a £5 discount for 6 months. Just rang them trying to see if they could extend the £5 discount or apply it to the Simplicity 20, and they said no!! I called 3 times and even talked to retentions, but no luck.
Guess I'll shell out the £20 for the tariff, really need the unlimited web with my new e71...

The packages available have changed, so O2 customers are currently on the old tariffs. You have to call O2 to get moved over to the new one... so basically the only change you will see is the extra text messages :)

you can get any of the bolt ons by paying an additional £7.50 a month. No need to pay the entire £20

You can't access internet anywhere with a 2g iphone, it has to be 3g. 2g is only wifi access.

you can sell the 2g on ebay for around £200-250, then buy the PAYG 3g, unlock it and get the simplicity deal you want with the unlimted internet bolt on.

Paying an additional £7.50 means they would be paying £22.50! Surely better to switch to the £20 deal and get more mins and txts out of it too.
The only reason to stay on the £15 deal is if they need the unlimited o2 calls AND unlimited web.
#34
My contract is up in March so I'm going to phone up and take out the £19.something contract then with unlimited web.

I think you'd be mad to go on a 12 month contract even if it is a better deal at the moment. They could double the texts and minutes on all their simplicity deals next month for all we know. I'm paying out about £30 at the moment for some pathetic amount of minutes and around 600 texts.

Errr-yes you can!

I've got a 2g 8GB iPhone on Simplicity 30 and I've got the free Web bolt on which gives me web browsing over GPRS/Edge and picks up my email every 15 mins.
#36
yes, you are right, and i am wrong...... of course you connect through edge and gprs...

These are 30-days contracts anyway so even if you're not within the 1st 7 days of the contract you can still cancel.
I'm on Simplicity 25 getting 600 mins, unlimited text (or 1000 text, not sure as I never use text anyway), and unlimited data, all for £20/month. Will be calling them shortly to up my minutes if I can ;-)
Thanks for the heads up, heat and rep added.
