My O2 contract was coming to an end. When I called 202 and asked for the PAC to change provider they offered me this deal; Keep my sim card and number, Online 25 tariff, reduced to £10 per month, but free for first 15 months, so total cost for 200 mins/400 txt per month for 18 months is £30. They credit you with £150 at the start, and take £10 each month. Obviously, if you go over the 200/400 and premium calls, that comes off the total, but still a good deal. I was paying £35 a month. I've got the same phone, same sim, less mins but wasn't using them, and now I'm paying £0. Result.

nice.

surely this depends on how much you use your phone?

I did this too, but went for the Online 35 tariff for £20/month getting 600mins/1000 texts and free Mobile internet. £150 credit is instead of taking a handset

is this not just o2 simplicity?

My contract is up in a month and Nick79's deal sounds great except its still 18 months!! Why did o2 get rid of 12 month contracts...... Will see what they offer when my time comes but think i'll sway more towards simplicty rarther than 18 month contract..

The wife's contract is already up and we've given 30 days notice to cancel. All o2 have offered is the simplicity deal which we turned down. She used to be on a 12 month contract and I wasn't aware that they no longer offer those! I guess that explains why they're not interested in offering any deals to her. Ah well, must be some good deals elsewhere?

I got this about a year ago, as a long-term O2 contract customer. The £150 credit to my account
was in lieu of getting a new handset.
Basically, you negotiate the monthly contract that suits you (I am a low user, so the £10/month one
suited me best). Then they sign you up for the 18 month deal and credit your account with the
£150, which effectively pays the first months of your new contract at whatever rate it would
normally be.

I am not sure this is really a deal as it is subject to individual use etc. Has been discussed many, many times before too so for that reason..... I'm out! (I mean I won't be voting!)

deal in my opinion as they just matched the same offer for me - thanks mate !!

Thanks for this.

I had just asked for a PAC code to transfer from O2 at the end of my contract. Only been with them a year and have never used over my free minutes however I called and mentioned this deal and they gave it to me. They did say it was dependant on each customer's usuage and history but Im a very light user and still got it.

Happy too because I had wanted to stay as I have O2 Broadband which is reduced to half price for mobile customers and their broadband is superb.

My pleasure. On top of getting this deal, my Nokia N95 went faulty just before the contract ended (flash wouldn't flash). They have returned it today with a complete overhaul. I think the only original part is the battery! So, new phone and no bills!!

I got same deal like you, I think it's great. I can get 5 pounds discount for my o2 broadband per month. so I don't need pay anything for my mobile for 18 month!!!

I know it says 'Upgrade' but I was wondering if anyone has tried to get a new one for this price?
