O2 have reduced their XDA Zest on PAYG to £195
(£10 top-needed unless you have an O2 PAYG sim more then 6 months old)

This is a fantastic deal for a tiny phone/PDA with:
1. VGA screen
2. GPS
3. 624mhz cpu
4. 128 mb ram
5. MicroSD card slot (tested to 32gb)
6. SQB desktop and Opera Browser included
7. Only 120g
8. Windows Mobile 6.1 (touch screen version)

It is actually made by Asus, so should be a quality device

Not a looker, but feels nice in the hand, small and light. Good reviews too:

Its only in shop at the moment, as the web site is still showing £250

I agree
I don't know why this is so much faster then the diamond
even opera used to crash all the time on the diamond but seems to be pretty fast on here.
I think the conclusion is that Asus and Samsung just write better software then HTC does for Windows Mobile.

just to add that you can use any SIM card they Unlocked sim :thumbsup:free

Looks a belter! I currently have an Orange SPV M600. Which is an HTC Prophet rebadged. I know my phone is 2 years old now but can I really justify upgrading to this? Hmmm! The M600 (HTC Prophet) drew rave reviews at the time I got mine (see here: http://www.trustedreviews.com/mobile-devices/review/2006/04/12/Orange-SPV-M600/p1 ), and it still performs most tasks well. I can watch movies etc too. But unlike the Zest, the M600 needs to be paired via Bluetooth with a GPS device for Sat Nav. Oh what to do?!?!?!

thats a pretty good life for a PDA. I had a M600 for a bit

the main difference you will find is that new PDAs are faster and web browsing is more enjoyable (although not for long periods).
the form factor of the zest is quite similar to the M600.
The VGA screen makes things much sharper, but a 2.8" screen is too small to use native VGA fonts.
The cameras have come along a bit as well, but not that much.

functionality across the board has increased. And of course with WM 5 and upwards you don't loose anything if the batteries go as the memory is static.

I agree with the specs and the value for money.

BATTERY LIFE is verty very very poor.

I returned twice to O2 though I got it free on upgrade
