Can also be friends, not just family. You all have to be on o2 network.

The Bolt On Owner pays the Bolt On fee of £7.50, provides the mobile numbers of the other 4 family / friends, and then unlimited calls, texts and picture messages between all 5 people within the group for a month. Not just between the Bolt On owner and the other 4 people, but unlimited calls/texts between any member of the calling group.

Your Family Bolt On:
1 person in the group pays £ 7.50* per month and 5 friends or family members get to stay in touch.

Your Extended Family Bolt On:
if your family's that little bit bigger, you can add an extra 5 friends or family members to make a total of 10 for £12.50* per month.

Minimum period is one month subscription. Have to cancel more than 48 hrs before the renewal anniversary or you'll be charged for the following month.

Open to PAYG as well as Pay Monthly Customers. Available online. Not sure about instore.

how the hell is this not on the top page? really theres so many deals that get neglected 27 degrees only!! ive been waiting for a deal like this for ages and only like o2, great work poster!
#4
Was about to post this myself! Voted hot
#5
this seems a top class deal to me, probably going to go for it.
#6
T&C's
2 All members of the group must be O2 customers.
which I thought would be the case otherwise it would cost them a fortune, but getting people to switch network is not easy.
#7
o2 unlimited o2 to o2 calls is also £7.50 - if you know more than 5 people on o2 this would work out better as you'd save on calling everyone on o2. Depends whether you text or talk more I guess
#8
oooh this is hot!!
#9
if you have simplicity its free to call anyway. warm
#10
Hot if you know 5 people on O2 whom you send lots of texts and make lots of calls to.

Not for me though

1) Only on the Online tariffs, not the instore ones
2) Not everyone wants to be on contract
3) Not everyone can get a contract
4) What about the kids on pay as you go?

i think people are missing the point of this bolt on, everyone in the circle will have unlimted txt, mins and mms to each other and only one person pays the £7.50

Exactly people - this is not just unlimited calls/texts for you, but also gives unlimited texts/calls for five other people, between those 5 numbers. Only one of you pays £7.50, and everybody wins.

Vodafone have this with Vodafone Family, but it doesn't include texts.

The only problem with this is getting my family members to switch over to o2; i doubt they'd want to surrender their current numbers with their various networks on crappy in-store tariffs...
#14
looks Hot to me, I can only see one problem, The person paying the £7.50 Ha Ha
#15
So you can do this each month for all of your O2 family and friends?

How you add the 5 people, is there a list you enter when you order, and finally :) can you add people later if you don't want to use all five straight away?

I know I could just go and order it and find out but you lot are usually so knowledgable :D

Get them to port their numbers over to 02....

I'm tempted as I'm on the Vodafone Family deal, but I can't get a decent signal where I live. My contract runs out next month, so I'll see what they offer me first!

If it's the same as the Vodafone one, you can enter all the numbers on their portal online. I think you can only change them once a month though?

Thansk qazitory, the more I think about this the better it sounds. I've just rodered some sims for the in-laws as they're on Orange.

£7.50 a month for this looks like a good one to me, and you cancel pretty much anytime. Voted hot.

Can you do that easily without paying the old network to do it? Bear in mind that they're all on pay-as-you-go.

Full terms & conditions are listed here:

http://www.o2.co.uk/termsandconditions/o2family#

Worth reading them if one of your friends/family have an o2 work mobile that you want to include in the group as some restrictions / authorisation required.

There is a guide how to set up the calling circle. You can do it online:

A lot of people dont realise that every one in the "family" gets calls and texts to each other so for example...

Mum pays £7.50 a month for the bolt on, and adds Dad, child 1, child 2 and child 3. Its not just mum that gets free calls and texts to these numbers . Child 1,2,3 can all call each other for free without having to pay for any bolt on. No other netwok will give you this.

Networks cant charge you for this service. It will all be handled by the network you are moving to, o2 in this case.

Can I keep my mobile number when I move to O2?
Once you have decided to join O2, you will need to contact your existing network provider to request a PAC number (Port Authorisation Code).

Then, once you have received your new O2 SIM card, you will need to give O2 customer services your PAC code. The easiest way to do this is by completing the form at o2.co.uk/keepyournumber. Once we have received your PAC code, your existing number will be transferred to your new O2 account within two working days.

Remember your PAC code is only valid for 30 days.

You could be overestimating how often children call their parents? I'm sure this is a good deal for many so I'm not going to vote cold, but I rarely call my family and not many friends are on O2.
#24
so whats the fair play policy on this then?

exaclty how many mins/texts is allowed?

I couldn't find this in the terms & conditions. Simply states the following:

Any unlimited call and/or text allowances permit you to make unlimited calls/text from your mobile phone for private, personal and non-commercial purposes. You may not use your SIM Card: (a) in, or connected to, any other device; or (b) in a way that adversely impacts the service to other O2 customers. If O2 reasonably suspect you are not acting in accordance with this policy O2 reserves the right to impose further charges or disconnect your Bolt On or tariff at any time, having attempted to contact you first. An unlimited allowance exists between all group members, subject to this excessive usage policy.

Not very helpful!!
#26
if it was for everyone and just not O2 would be hot hot hot!!! I'm on O2 because I have an iphone, unfortunately most people I know aren't on O2 =(
#27
im guessing its only o2 to o2 but by any chance its not o2 to any network is it? imagine that wow
cant find any fair usage limits either
still hot deal like i said before
#28
this deal should be hotter than it is. people need to look into it again, its v.good
#29
Do you have to top up o2 payg sims to keep them active? Otherwise why not get a PAYG sim and cheap handset in addition to whatever contract they have for the other 'family' members?
#30
Just helped you hit 400 degrees!!!
#31
I never realised only 1 person pays the 7.50, HOT
#32
Just all get three 3G skype phones and calls between handsets are free !! ??
#33
so how does this work on a payg sim

does the sim need credit? if the sim has £0 credit can calls and text still be made to the 5 people in the ring?

is the site working for anyone? when i try to go to buy now link, i get this message:

There has been a problem

There has been a problem with Family Management Application , you cannot access the family management features; however you are free to view other contents .

But what is the cost to Dad and 3 kids to keep an O2 PAYG SIM Card running assuming they're not calling or SMSing anyone else outside of the circle?

if you started all fresh with 5 new O2 SIM Cards and 1 person paid the £7.50p per month would the other 4 people need to top up a minimum of £10 to get the ball rolling and if so how often would you need to top up those 4 phones on O2 to keep them activated?

Thats true - although I think the call quality on a Skype phone wasn't as good as a direct phone to phone call - at least the last time I tried.

Also doesn't running the skype application run down the battery much quicker?
#36
With simplicity you can add one "add on" for free. The family bolt on is not included in this, does anyone know if it is possible to add it on within the priceplan.

I've read through o2's terms & conditions and found that you need to make or receive one chargeable call every six months to keep your account active so it's not related to how much or how frequently you top up. The exact wording is this:

If you do not make or receive a chargeable call at least once in any 6 month period your Mobile Phone will be disconnected and you will lose any remaining credits balance on your Account.

These are part of the general T&C of being on o2 - and can be found here:

Has anyone set this up yet?

I have been trying since 14 June. My account shows that some phone numbers have been added and some are pending.

I have been into my local O2 shop who have been excellent in trying to resolve this, however the customer call centres are unable to help.

I have had various excuses why this has not worked and advised to cancel and start again. Tried this one week ago and O2 mananged to charge me for this service I have not been able to use yet.

If anyone has been succesful with this, please tell me how you managed.

Thanks

iv been waiting since 15th may for 02 friends and family to be set up. despite the amount of calls to customer service. guru chats and visits to 02 shop, still not working,
