Thats okay. Nearly everyone on here has £50 W7 anyhow ;)
#5
Is that price including postage though?

Bought this about a month ago. Using it now, as a matter of fact. GREAT machine! Love it to bits, plays games at a good frame rate. Only thing missing was a wireless card and a SD card slot. I bought an SD card thingy (internal) for bout a fiver, and still looking for a cheapish Belkin 54g internal network card - currently linked up with a 5 meter cable to the router!

HOT!!

#8
@cheekywelshguy Should be fine for that sort of thing IMO, decent gfx card and decent amount of RAM

i see no reason why it wouldn't - gaming on PCs require far far more processing power than any other application i can think of, unless you've been commissioned to design a whole city i doubt your PC would have problems rendering whatever you're designing

Am I missing something here, why is this such a good deal? Seems like an average price for a mid spec PC with no OS/screen/peripherals etc?

its a good deal for those who already have peripherals and want to play PC games on a limited budget, would rather not build their own machine but are OK installing their own operating system. Admittedly this is not a huge chunk of the market.
#12
I don't think your missing anything, infact think you've hit the nail on the head.

£70 Graphics card
£40 power supply
£45 Hard Drive
£50 Processor
£30 Case
£50 Ram
£20 Dvd Drive
£40 motherboard

Total: £345

You get what you pay for- it's not a fantastic offer, or a blinding deal it's just a decent gaming rig.

It's good to see cheap pre-built machines with decent power supplies and cases and branded motherboards, so this gets a hot from me. Shame about the CPU though, it would be nice to have an option to upgrade to a 720 or something for 50 quid more.

User reviews on google based on 243 reviews is dreadfull and form previious users on this site.Stay away from overclockers it wud seem

I'd rather eat **** on a stick than order from OcUK. But each to their own :).

i've bought about 15 items from overclockers in the last 2 years and never had a problem.

The opinions of less that 0.00001% of the UK do not make a bad company

And the opinions of 0.000000000000001% don't make it a good company ;)

If I were after a cheap gaming maching (pre-built, I'd built my own) then the ebuyer E5300 machine at £220 a 4870 at £90. That gives you £40 of spare cash for a power supply and upgrade the processor fan for a little overclocking.

So you're saying only one person in every ten million people that have shopped with OcUK have had problems? Bullsh**. Its probably closer to one person in every five from what I can work out.

Far more people complain much more about OcUK than any other parts/system supplier. Therefore its logical that they are much worse.

Just because one person (you) hasn't had a problem, doesn't mean they are great.

This offer isn't great. I've worked out you can pick the parts up if you look around for about £310. Is £40 saving enough to make you just do it yourself? It is for me, and it probably is for the majority of people who would be interested in buying something like this in the first place to be honest.

terrible, terrible company run by a rather nasty person who has pretty extreme views. Try googling +"ocuk" +"racist".
God help you if you ever need to return anything to this lot and I have little sympathy for people who have been told this and continue to buy from them. I got done over once by this company many years ago and would like to think that all teh warnings have stopped many others being done over also.

What the difference between this one and the Titan Pyro which seems to be £20 cheaper:-

the graphics card

NVIDIA GTS 250 1024MB Graphics Card

edit: however they bench about the same according to this

So that one does appear to be a better deal.

For what it's worth, Rupert Lowery succeeded Mark Proudfoot as Managing Director in 2007. Proudfoot remains Chairman though.

It is not just an issue of how many customers have or have not had a problems, all companies make the odd mistake here and there. Alledgely, it is their poor attitude towards customer service and handling of those problems that I think upsets people.
#27
This company is pure utter ****. Do not use them.

We are a local company and refuse to emply anyone that has worked for them.

Sums my feelings up very neatly.

I have never had any problems ordering from them either. Returns however are another matter. Have you ever had to return anything to them?

Where would you recommend to get components at these prices, I wouldn't want to faff around with 4 or 5 different sites just to save a few quid here and there.

Is there one site you'd recommend ?

ebuyer.com

ebuyer.com

They're friendly, they offer free delivery on orders over £50. For smaller items delivery is generally 99p with a 4 day turnaround.

I've been using them on and off since 2003 and never had a problem. :whistling:

Just pulled this from their site: Presales Advice
For further assistance on choosing your Desktop PC you can call us Monday to Friday 9AM - 7PM on 0872 111 2222

you could look at http://www.ebuyer.com/product/168998 as a starting point, processor is good but you would probably want to beef-up the graphics card. (ask them if they'd swap it for a better one, with you paying the difference)

Don't worry about a operating system, get the basics, everyone knows someone with a copy, alternatively get windows 7 it's £50 in argos...... and it's often listed on here.... i've been running the release candidate version and it batters vista!
#33
TBH ebuyer don't have a much better rap when it comes to returns.

I RMA'ed a PSU to OCuk a year or so back and they replaced it no questions asked.
#34
Price currently at £339.97 inc VAT.
#35
You may also want to check out Ankermann-PC, they have a similar custom system to this, but with a better processor for a bit more cash. The only problem is most of their PCs come with an own brand / non brand power unit, but that can be upgraded with some of them, or you could do it yourself.

Just another option, but this looks like a pretty decent deal, not as good as some offers that crop up.

Anybody know which Gigabyte Motherboard is present inside this PC?
