That price is exlcuding VAT (£35.69) and delivery (£8.95), making it £239.63 - you should have quoted that price in the title.

I bought myself one of these earlier.
#2
Agrred should have quoted the with Vat price.
#3
agree but why the **** is it voted cold is it a bad deal with the vat

I would said the one in pixmania is a better deal, £233.30 delivered, supplied with HDMI/DVi cable and it is HDCP compliant. Bought myself one last month, and very happy! Now just waiting for the 8800gts 512MB and get ready for a gaming x'mas!:santa:

Thanks for this, great deal.
Just ordered one, I would have gone for the pixmania one had anyone at all said it was good, but none have.
#6
I’d rather chance this than the Dell which has a TN panel and cost £78 more.

Am I the only one here that have bought the Iolair MB24W 24" wide angel VA panel from Pixmania?
Just would like you guy to know that the MB24W from Pixmania is cheaper (even compare to OcUK weekly special) and it support HDCP, it supplied with VGA and HDMI/DVI cable (OcUK supplied with VGA and DVI cable). In terms of viewing angle, color quality, scaling for gaming, it is great for a 24" (1920x1200 native resolution) panel. Just my 2 cents.

I was going to post this deal, but see I have beren beaten to it. Voted hot.

Have just order this screen along with a MSI 8600GT (silent). The L2442W lcd has had rave reviews (on the OC forum) and I hope that it lives up to its claims. I've already got my sticky tape ready to help dim the aircraft landing led on the front of the screen.

I have loved my old VGA Digitmate 19", which my other half now uses (think this was listed as a Dabs value product).

There used to a youtube video (from nkitchen) of the wonderfully wide viewing angles, but I see it has now been removed (so I cant post a link to it).

Not sure what Im going to do with my current AOC 17" lcd..... any thoughts?

Hi

You could offer your old monitor at www.freecycle.org. These are local community groups that offer for free items that would otherwise end up at the tip. I have got rid of (and acquired) allsorts on here.

Try www.freecycle.org if you can't sell it.

Looking at the pircture on OC and Pixmania its the same monitor but just branded differently so both will be HDCP enabled?
#16
The OcUK one isn’t HDCP compatible.
#17
To the person who doesn't know what to do with their old TFT, there's always ebay. I sold a 17" TFT *not in working order* for £20 on ebay.
#18
£230 for a 24" monitor is a good deal, but Overclockers.co.uk suck as a Retailer. Customer service was absolutely shocking on the two occasions I had to return items to them. I have not voted either way but please be wary.
#19
How come this is voted cold, some explanation why?

Think this model is the exact one on Pixmania. So may consider purchasing off Pixmania using discount and quidco.
#20
I'm a bit befuddled by the extreme cold this deal is getting too.
#21
OcUK don’t seem to have a lot of love around these here shores which I think influences the voting. I’ve personally found them to be 100% okay.

I read the discussion on OcUK forums regarding this monitor and it sounds a good deal. The downsides are no HDCP, a mediocre stand and I’m not sure what their dead pixel policy is. I’ve decided to buy a 22” TFT instead but was tempted by this.
#22
The stand is ok if your desk is sturdy but wall brackets are a good price if you fancy that option. Google 100mm VESA Wall Mount for prices. I have followed the OcUk thread and it appears the few that have had a problem have been dealt with quickly. It's the first time I have ever used them and perhaps I was lucky but the picture on this monitor is awesome. I went to this from a 22" Dell which I thought was good but this is far superior.
I voted Hot on this but I am starting to think the voting has a bug in it.

Worth noting: From http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17806175&page=56 regareding other manufactures models that look the same as the Digimate panels

In reponse to:
have one question, is this one (link below) the same as from OC???? The Data Sheet seems like it would be the same Monitor, but on the picture it seems that it would not.

I hope that you guys can help me.

Hi there
It could use any panel and could therefor be the same as the model we sell or different.

When I spoke to DGM they said they do use upto 3 different panels and other similar models could use a different panel again.

Thats why OcUK took all the DGM stock they had as they guaranteed us they were all of the same batch with same panel, hence why we have plenty in stock as we did not want to risk getting none VA panels or an inferior one so were now stocked up heavily on these so we can ensure that OcUK customers get a good quality panel.

Both of these monitors are the SAME, so why have they got different numbers to them ??
Why has OCUK got no HDCP n the other un has...That Do NOT make sence to me...Is this another sign of Rip Off Britain !! ?
I've ordered from OCUK n am awaiting arrival today...Hopefully, if CITY LINK don't MUCK It UP as useual here in Swansea...Why Any business uses City Link I don't know..They are RUBBISH....
This Monitor had better be GOOD or I'll RUBBISH it ALL over the Internet...!
MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL.

They may look the same but the internals often change from manufacturer.
Mine arrives tomorrow. The OcUK forum is a buzz with chat on this screen, which is part of the reason why I bought one (oh and my digimate 19 has been very good over the years too).

I would be interested to hear your opinion when you get it tonight.

Citylink are very poor, but its partly our (the consumers) fault for wanting rock bottom delivery costs....
#26
Well mine turned up yesterday and am thrilled with it. I think the deal is being voted cold by the 'my monitor's better than yours' people. Glad to see a few people found it a good deal x
#27
Full HD spec good price.!!!
#28
I believe Jazid's last post (#24) has given the most plausible answer.

DGM which is what the ones OC's website are branded have said that they use at least 3 different panels and that different batchs might not even be VA panels!!!! This also explains why other brands that have licensed the design etc will be in a similar situation and therefore I also believe that the one mention on pixmania will also be subject to the same variety of spec i.e. there is no guarantee you will get a HDCP enabled one from pixmania either or even a VA panel one.

Not a big deal but I would be inclinded to get it from OC if they have bought a large single sourced batch from DGM that are all VA panels

And no I have no axe to grind against pixmania as I think they are great. Just in this case go with the known rather than the maybe :)
#29
I was going to buy one of these but the warranty is not on-site replacement; DGM will collect and return it but you might be without for weeks.
I’d rather pay more for a full replacement service and a better stand. i.e. I’ll have to wait until prices drop.

I bought the iolair MB24W model from Pixmania over the ocuk's DMG model. I can tell you tell that ithe one from Pixmania t is cheaper, it has wide angle VA panel, it is more future proof with HDCP compliant and it supply with HDCP/DVI cable so you could plug it straight to your PS3 console or 1080p HDTV player. I am a happy owner thus far. Just try to let you guys know that there are some better monitor you can get the same/lower price.
DMG might be buying form the same manufacturer, but they got the lower model, VGA
and DVI input without HDCP. The lowest model only got VGA input. As far as I know the Iolair MB24W that I bought from Pixmania is the better model with VGA, DVI with HDCP supported and auto brightness sensor. I think Pixmania now rebrand the monitor usignti own brand rather than Iolair, hopefully still the same monitor.
#31
Fair enough :)

Can you see though that whilst you may have got one that supports HDCP its not guaranteed as pixmania's page doesn't mention HDCP or being a VA panel at all :(

http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/628192/art/pixmania/mb24w-24-wide-format-tft.html#fichetechnique

I do agree that it is cheaper though than OC (and they have a 15 days satisfied or your money back ...
option so could return if not happy. What is very strange though is pixmania do a similar VGA only model that is £249? Why would you pay more for less???
