What games actually support this old model?
#2
I'd be interested to know what this works with too ...

http://in2gpu.com/2014/08/10/oculus-rift-dk1-vs-dk2/

Its an early version so its not perfect with higher latency and lower refresh rates, so probably not ideal for gaming. But to watch 360 videos it should be serviceable.

This will put you off vr

Don't let it put you off though. You can try it for cheap but just remember the consumer rift is about 29 times better and only 10 times more expensive

same person, you dummy!

why not just say 'hey this person has been accepting £35' ???

Damm i have a GTX 1050 in mine just missed the min spec on this 1050ti is the min spec.

Put a extra £60 and get a DK2 with headtracking and better resolution, way better VR experience all round with headtracking.

At a £100 it's a great entry level VR system, i have enjoyed it so much i just jumped onto the latest rift deal to replace the DK2.

can confirm i got one for £35 accepted offer from link above.

Is there anyway to bypass software checker and let this run on my gtx 1050?
#12
I believe this is the runtime you will need to get older hardware working without using the compatibility tool.

just bought of the same seller for £25 it was an auction not offer or BIN . Thought it would be good to see if i like VR and if i can justify £400 for the cv1 . Reading a few of the comments ive changed my expectations lol. still for £25 i can try and modify and upgrade it myself allready thinking of wii controller for head tracking or maybe an old Kinect.

Exactly that! This is perfect to try things out first before spending over £400 on a better newer version, if you don't like it then hey, £25 isn't bad. Can easily sell it on as well.

I been using GearVR and Samsung S7Edge. Would this be worth trying with a GTX 970?

Edit* What I mean is, would this be noticably better regarding the VR experience?

You won't like it because this version is not consumer ready. This will not be a good experience. And you will say: well I tried vr and I didn't like it so it's not for me. But you didn't really try it and you would be doing yourself a disservice. This has all the pitfalls of the consumer rift - amplified, and with none of the benefits or immersion created by VR

The issue would be what is still compatible with the DK1 as most gaming based apps require DK2 or Newer the GPU would weork well with VR though to answer your question but see if you can pick a cheap DK2 up on Ebay
