Hi bobisking
this was the godaddy offer: http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/dot-com-domains-for-74p-at-godaddy-/827622. Looks as though it's finished though..

Someone in that thread also recommended one.com through quidco so that might be worth checking out.

I just bought another 4 GB for my ASUS P5Q-E board but it will not boot with 8GBs on board
I have a 64 bit OS , bit stumped by it

COCO

Could be that the RAM is not compatible. Try taking out the RAM and see if it boots with the original RAM. If it does, the new RAM needs to be sent back or it could be that the motherboard only takes 4GB RAM but that's doubtful.

Is your new set of ram the same speed/timings/make as your old set?
Are you running an overclock at all?
As hoggy potter suggested above you should try the new set of ram on its own to make sure it works in your motherboard. :)

Im running an ASUS P5K-E with 8GB.

Find your BIOS jumper and clear the BIOS, it might be you have a manual setting entered.

A quick search shows this as a common problem with that MoBo (search "Asus P5Q-E 8GB").

Looks worth updating to the latest BIOS version and checking the voltage required by the memory chips (My Gigabyte motherboard has an explicit warning about populating all slots with >1066MHz FSB chips or dual sided chips due to the voltage requirements)

due to mass production. same happened to ddr2 when they were mass produced. But production of ddr2 has slown down hence price going up. I' holding until next year for my upgrade as not worth getting a new motherboard now.

next motherboard to have:
* DDR3
* USB 3
* Sata 3
* Pci Express 3 (explained below)

Generation Bit rate Interconnect bandwidth Bandwidth (per lane) Maximum bandwidth (16 lanes)
PCI-Express 1.1 2.5GT/sec 2GB/sec 250MB/sec 8GB/sec
PCI-Express 2.0 5GT/sec 4GB/sec 500MB/sec 16GB/sec
PCI-Express 3.0 8GT/sec 8GB/sec 1GB/sec 32GB/sec
