The address for warranty returns will be in the Netherlands - the cost of returning it, should it fail under warranty - will be almost the same as buying a new one. Their customer support is excellent though - I got one replaced even though it was several months after the warranty period had expired and the model I got back was brand new and not the factory refurbished that so many companies provide as a warranty replacement. It was also a much higher spec'ed one than the original (although that had ceased production). Touch wood - it's working beautifully

If I had to pay for the carriage, which luckily I don't*, I wouldn't buy any more OCZ stuff because of the cost of shipping for replacement under warranty. What's the point of a 3 year warranty if it isn't economically viable to make use of it?

    *Don't ask ...;)

Hmm, could probably do with a new PSU. Mine is 4 years old, and am replacing the mobo/cpu today.

Bought mine from Scan-ebay end of last month & it failed. Contacted OCZ directly and was asked to return the PSU back to Scan. Tried contacting Scan in regards to PSU, but they turned a deaf ear. Got in contact OCZ and they sent me this email.

Scan must have changed their policy in the last year.
When I spoke to them about a return for a possibly faulty FSP PSU which was under 3 year warranty, they said to return it to them for replacement.
    markeh
Yea ocz and lacie suck for returns because of the cost to post. Ssd's are light but psu's and bulky external drives cross some weight threshold at the post office that means they're at least £20 to return. If you reckon it might break it's nearly worth buying 2.

If less than a month, you should claim the money back from your credit card company all they will request will be proof of postage
    Speedsurfer
All I can suggest is to keep at Scan, I've had this with other retailers myself. Under the Sale of Goods Act it is the retailer who you should be dealing with, not the manufacturer of the product. Any retailer will know this and they are just trying to save themselves money by reducing the number of returns they accept, don't be fobbed off. Usually as soon as you start quoting the SOGA they cave and accept the return.

Paid £4.99 postage via Collect+, to send PSU back.

tbh its amazon, this psu is far from cheap cheerful 700watt amazon special and it failing is very remote and if they do fail well you can hassle amazon in the 1st year as in most cases the retailer has 1st year returns. I've ran this psu for 4 years now and its not broken down yet or showed any sign of failing (the 500 & 600 variants are fsp sparkle branded psus) .

I've had a corsiar and a dreaded hiper that killed my pc, I know its sound like I'm contradicticting myself here but if you dont wanna run the risk get a psu with a uk RMA branch like corsair.

Your contract is with the supplier, not the manufacturer. Normal blag from suppliers to get out of some work/expense. Glad to see OCZ taking up the matter!

I have had no problems with SCAN returns but then ALL of my issues have been dealt with face to face over the counter.

Not via email, telephone or long distance.

As I am a local customer I just go into their large shop in person.
    tek-monkey
Overclockers did this to me once, I had some DOA RAM and they insisted I sent it back to Crucial rather than themselves. Apparently I had damaged the packaging by opening it so they couldn't accept it - it was a sealed blister pack so had to be broken to open! So I did what any normal person would do, I turned up at their little shop front to the warehouse and kicked off very loudly making several customers leave. Got it replaced though.

I've got the 600W version of this power supply. Got it several years ago and never had a problem with it. Also bought a new graphics card (GTX660) the other week and the power supply had all the right connectors, so more than pleased with it. I would recommend, heat added. 8)

Alternatively you could buy a better quality PSU from a reputable company like Seasonic. e.g.

    Seasonic SS-360GP
    Seasonic SS-450RM

With PSUs, you don't want to skimp. :)
