  Well after a good look about I am leaning towards this drive -
  CSSD-F90GB3-BK - 90GB Corsair Force Series 3, 2.5" SATA 6Gb/s SSD, Read 550MB/s, Write 500MB/s, 85k IOPS
  Seems to be a good value one as it has 90gb rather than 64gb and gets very good reviews.

  I actually have the Corsair Force 3 120gb in my gaming rig. The sole reason I choose this drive instead of the M4 at the time (Samsung 830 had not been released) was budget, its an awesome drive, I actually get the rates they advertised which is always good, I am using an ASUS P67 board.

  Just another couple of questions lol,
  the crucial m4 has Read: 500 MB/s Write: 95 MB/s - is that something to be concerned about?
  Also am I right in assuming these SSD's are all backwards compatible? I have an Abit IP35 pro mb.

  The Abit IP35 Pro only carries SATA II if memory serves correct, so you wont actually be able to achieve the maximum speeds from either of these SATA III drives but yes it is backwards compatible.
  
  Here is a direct comparison, M4 vs Corsair F3 Comparison Tests
  
  Writing is better on the Corsair but its not a big issue because after all with the limited space your not transferring large files around the drive. These scores mean very little to users, its willy waving antics at best.
  
  If this is your first SSD, rest assured you will be pleased with the upgrade whichever SSD path you choose.

  Thanks for that, I did realise it would be slower, but it is probably going to be the first item in an ongoing pc upgrade lol. I thought if I bought an sata III one it would work at full speed when I eventually do the mb etc.

  You may find by purchasing the SSD it prolongs your upgrade schedule, only you can judge if thats a good thing :p I am popping them in netbooks, laptops, & desktops. Even the very weak Atom processors found in netbooks become surprisingly snappy when reading from an SSD.

  I know people think they are buying a bargain with these cheap SSD's and I am tempted so much myself to see the speed difference which I believe is amazing but when doing a little research I realised why they are dropping so much in price at the moment, they are the older SSD's which do not have TRIM functionality.
  
  
  Basically trim functionality helps to keep the SSD running at peak performance over the lifetime of the nand(the actual components inside the SSD). Those SSD's without Trim functionality will gradually start slowing down from the moment you start using them. Yes they work well and they come with great guarantees, but over the same time period you will notice the difference in speed between the two systems.
