Just got an email from Odeon, join Limitless between 24th Nov - 28th Nov 2016 and get a £30 Odeon gift card. Limitless memberships are £17.99 per month, or £19.99 per month with Central London. Use Promo code BLACK30 when joining. If you pay up front for a year you get 5% discount (£205 or £228 inc London), which would potentially make the membership as little as £14.58 per month (£16.50 inc London) if you figure you would have spent £30 anyway on food/drink/upgrades throughout the year.

How good value the limitless membership is to you depends on where you live and how often you go to the cinema, I'm currently a member because I go once a week (or more) on average. I wish this offer would have been on a couple of months ago when I joined!

Shame there doesn't appear to be anything for those of us who are already members. Free or discounted upgrades to Premier/3D/IMAX seats for the weekend would've been nice.

I'm right with you there, that would have been great for sure. Maybe another email will come in for current members with an offer for half price combos or something (not as if that compares to £30 gift card though!)

I am considering this actually because I spend like £17+ each visit on food and tickets! I'm trying to weigh up the pros and the cons but really really considering it.

Is the card transferable or they check identification every time you visit?

the card has your picture on, so yes they check it every time....i think its great value if you're a saddo like me who works shifts and goes at least once a week...watched 2 films today to get me out of the house...that should have cost ##19 so it's paid for itself in 1 visit...gets you discounts on food aswel..different deal every month....i asked about a family version today for my kids and i think there's one in the pipeline

Maybe. That said though, with the amount I've saved on tickets so far this year already, I can't complain too much.

It's meant to be nontransferable and they ask for a photo, which they print onto the back of your card. However, I've never actually been asked to show my card at my nearest cinema. I always buy my tickets online though, rather than in the cinema itself.

Same here, maybe in theory they ask for your limitless card, but at my local cinema they haven't asked once yet, and I'm about 15-20 films in. You can book online and then use your limitless card to collect your ticket at a machine.

Also, in case people are wondering if it's worth the effective £14.58 - £15.50 monthly fee (spreading the £30 gift card saving over 12 months), you should not only think about how much tickets are at your local cinema and how often you go, but also how often you would go if you had unlimited membership. For instance, say at £15.50 per month, that may be 2 tickets. So, if you go on average twice a month and tickets where you go are £7.50 on average, you might think "no big deal, I'd only break even". However, if you had an unlimited membership, you'd probably go more and go see those "what the heck" movies. I know I've seen quite a few that I probably would've given a miss if I had to pay money on a gamble if I'd like it or not. Just a thought.

How exactly do I get the £30 voucher, there's no mention of it on the Odeon website.

Thanks

I have gone for this but no mention of the card anywhere, anyone else tried it?

It's an email that was sent out, but it's not restricted to Odeon members, although they seem to have done a pretty shoddy job at marketing this offer. I'd upload a screengrab of the email but I can't figure a way to upload a photo (is there a way?) When you click on the Get Deal link, you then click Join Today and on the next page there's a toggle link that says: "Do you have an ODEON Limitless gift membership voucher or promotional code?" That's where you enter "BLACK30" in the promotional code box, after clicking on the link. Odeon then confirms that the code has been entered (although it doesn't actually confirm at any point what the code will give you).

I'm sure if you call Odeon they'll be able to confirm that you'll get the gift card, in case you're worried about it not going through. Hope this helps!

Entered the code on two separate cards and got the code accepted but nothing on the order itself. Odd.

I personally consider you going for it.. The first month after I bought it I saw 8 movies that were supposed to be £9.50 each so that's near on £80 in just one month so take off the £18 limitless cost and I saved around 60 pound ish.. Depends if you think you're going to get your monies worth really. It can be used for silver screen too. I saw BFG today. Imho it's worth the money.. Plus I believe you can pay a little extra on the day if you wanted to see 3d movies and you can keep your glasses :) heat added

For a lot of people that's a moot point, whether you're right or not, because they either live near a cineworld or near an Odeon. I live 5 mins from an Odeon, and 45 mins from a Cineworld. Guess which I'm a member of?
