Thanks.

I've been trying to convince my wife that smaller sausages are better for you.

I think we have different definitions of "100% pork"

Ingredients

British Pork (61%), Water, Fortified Wheat Flour (Wheat Flour, Calcium Carbonate, Iron, Niacin, Thiamin), Rapeseed Oil, Potato Starch, British Pork Fat, Honey, Salt, Sugar, Stabiliser: Sodium Triphosphate, Yeast Extract, Black Pepper, Coriander, Nutmeg, Sage, Cayenne Pepper, Pork Protein Casing

61% the new 100%
#8
What it means is that the 61% is in fact 100% pork..

Like some of the food you buy which states 'made with 100% chicken breast', is not quite that..

I'll get my coat..

Totally misleading title as these are actually only 61% pork.

Most good quality sausages are in the region of 94-97% pork so these at 61% are very much at the rubbish end of the sausage market.

Voted cold.

You have to allow for the spices and other things that make these sausages tastier than the competitors'..

...and by 61% pork, does that just mean 61% pig parts, or is it 61% real meat?

Very good question..

I believe it's real (lean) meat.. Breast I think ..

I need to know one thing, is the pork Halal-certified? :{

Completely misleading - from the OP as Sainsburys aren't advertising them as 100% pork. They wouldn't dare. Cold.

You are joking surely?

I prefer 94-97% meat in a sausage than 61% of meat and over 35% of spices and 'other things' - quite how those 'other things' can make a sausage tastier than a really meaty one is beyond me.

Still if you are happy to eat this junk in preference to a good quality sausage then that's your prerogative but please don't try and mislead people by advertising them incorrectly and as something they are not.
