Only about £39 on student software sites.

Example: http://www.software4students.co.uk/Microsoft_Office_Standard_2007-details.aspx

Only about £30 on student software sites.

Not much use if you aren't a student? Unless there is a way around that?
#3
Just download the beta edition free
#4
That is what I did but the beta expires at the end of October. If you are going to get this make sure you get the version with the free upgrade to 2010 which several have inc software4students (who don't check eligibility too closely by the way...)

Um, but the deal has student in the title. Bit of a giveaway. So cold.

must just be at that store as I followed the link and it is £97 something on line

you may as well get it illegally for free if your not a student, and get this. although I suppose this way it will activate.

YOU DONT HAVE TO BE A STUDENT TO BUY THIS PRODUCT...ANYONE CAN BUY IT FROM TESCO
if you are a student or work for nhs you can get it a lot cheaper at youre IT department with your student card.
but this is for anyone & it can be installed on 3pc's in one home.
ITS NOT A BETA ITS FULL STUDENT VERSION.no expire date

I RUN A PC SHOP & HAVE DONE FOR 18 YEARS.......I GUES THAT TO MANY NOOBS ON HERE I WILL NOT BE POSTING AGAIN .
AS A PC SOFTWARE & HARDWARE SELLER THIS IS VERY CHEAP..I CANT BUY IT IN FOR THAT PRICE.

i thought some guys used this forum who work in IT.i gues not or they would know all about this stuff.

lol.thank you:thumbsup:

nobody is saying you have to be, its just if your not a student, your not meant to buy it right? Is it right is it wrong? Unless Student edition doesn't mean its for students just that its only the stuff that students would use.

It really doesn't matter if you are a student or not.

My girlfriends dad just bought a computer from pc world and this is the version you get with it.

The term student edition just means it might be ideal for students because of the features it has.

and you can upgrade to 2010 when it comes out I assume.

Contains: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote

ITS CALLED STUDENT & HOME EDITION.
#16
I read somewhere that ms will be calling this home office /student edition in the future to make the point its not just for students.

rename the title like it says on amazon and include what you get, might get more hits so people dont think its for students "Microsoft Office 2007 Home and Student Edition (3 User Licence)"
#18
It's called "Microsoft Office Student and Home Edition". Anybody can buy it.

The conffusion seems to have arisen because:

- the title has the words in the wrong order (I thought it was at Home Bargains)
- another poster helpfully pointed out it's cheaper from software4students (but only legit if you're a student - this includes school pupils) & that NHS (and a few other) employees can get it cheaper. I work in education and can't - go figure!
- another poster suggested downloading the free beta edition of Office 2010 (which will expire in October)
- If you buy this you probably will be able to upgrade for free to Office 2010 when it's released
- If you just want a cheap office suite Open Office is free and does what most people need

For most people this will do everything you need (but so will Open Office for free - try it and the beta of Microsoft Office 2010 before you spend any money!). However, having bought it myself from software4students I'm a little frustrated to find my kids are using Publisher at school but can't at home because it's not in this edition! I sort of expected that the Home & Student edition purchased from Software4Students would enable students to do their homework! Was that just too obvious?

Just for info. If you work for or are a sub contractor for Bae Systems you can get office 2007 enterprise edition for free.
