** Preowned ** Official Microsoft 120Gb hard drive for the Xbox 360. Comes with 12 months warranty.

You can either order online to be delivered to your door or If you're lucky enough to have a CeX local to you then you can try and see if they've got some in stock.

If you're upgrading from an old 20Gb or 60Gb (and want to keep your save games etc) then you can phone MS and ask them for a free transfer cable. It will take around 1 to 2 weeks to arrive.

It's made even more stupid by the fact that EVERYTHING is pre-owned, whether it's by an individual, or by a retailer/company/manufacturer. As soon as something is made, it's owned by someone before finding it's way into our hands.

And cold deal, used HDD, bad idea.

So? They can give it a warranty til the end of time for all I care. These are much more likely to fail than a new one (why on earth has a 120GB HD been traded without a console in the first place? It's not like you can go any bigger. In all probability they'll be in superficial working order but riddled with bad sectors). A warranty can't replace your hard-earned game saves.

I don't understand how a used HDD, especially the small (laptop type HDD's) can be a "bad idea".
I would rather buy a 120GB second hand HDD for £48. Than buy CoD4 used for £30.

Anyhow, my point is that it's hardware, hardware is not abused (as much) as software...like games. You are not constantly removing hard disks and swaping them around and maybe even flinging them around the room when you are done with them.... but when it comes to sofware, that's exactly what some people tend to do with them....

Anyway, I won't be picking it up personally, because I'm on a tight budget but i think it's a hot deal. Heat + Rep added.

if you already have the 20gb caddy, why not just buy an oem laptop drive and swap it out? you get more for your buck

Because a HDD is mechanical and has platters that spin at 5400rpm. The more it is used the more it is likely to fail, with worse consequences than a faulty games disk i.e you lose all your data on it . . . of course you back it up EVERY night, don't you.

I've bought plenty of second hand games which have been no problem whatsoever...and they've only cost me a fiver or less. No way would I waste nearly £50 on a second hand hard disk.

You have to hack the new HD, and it has to be a very specific brand for the hack to work. Also, there's the risk of Microsoft detecting non-official hardware and banning you from XBL.

Why would someone trade in a 120GB? I've got one to trade in, as someone at work gave it to me. My cousin bought a new Elite, as his old one packed up, he traded in the 120GB from the new one when he bought it. Gamestation actually took it out of the new box and tested it to make sure it worked!

So that's why some peole have 120GB drives to trade in ;-)

A second hand 120gb hard drive for a fraction under £50 so that works out at £2.40 a gb? What year is this???
