Please excuse my ignorance but what does this do?

I might add I am not a 'gamer' but a mother who likes to save a bob, or two, where possible!

I'm looking for the shopto link

Or £8.99 now with the 10% off Everything.

If i were you lot, i wouldn't bother. Get some high capacity rechargeable batteries and a battery charger. It makes for a far better gaming experience, much better battery life, the pair of 2500mAh batterys i have seem to last atleast 10x longer than the battery pack i've got.

If your kids are using batteries in their wireless controller for their xbox 360, then this gadget will do away with the need for batteries.

It comes with a rechargeable battery and a charge cable that connects to the xbox and charges the xbox wireless controller whilst allowing your kid(s) to still play their games, once charged it is disconnected and they have a fully charged wireless controller again.

It will save you money on batteries in the long run, but will also mean they can play non stop with no interruptions...maybe not so good. :-D

The rechargeable battery pack replaces the normal pack you get with the controller meaning you don't need to replace 2 x AA batteries when they run out, just recharge the pack. The cable connects the pack/controller to the console (without the need to remove the pack from the controller) and acts as a charger when necessary.

As an aside, I got 2 packs of the Woolies equivalents (in white) for 2 quid each the other day (day of closing down of my local store) but I guess the quality is not as high. Didn't post at the time since a) I've never posted before (!) and b) it was Woolies' last day so I hope everyone was aware of the goings-on at the time (i.e. some crazy, and some not so crazy, bargains).

Edit: Beaten to it by bingohomer!

Thanks to all who have replied. Rep added.

Joshm...my local BigW is not closed yet so might give a look, failing that there is a Zavvi nearby!

Sorry to spoil the party but, I dont think this is the official XBOX 360 version:?

Why?

Well here is what looks like the white version of this with pic - note the RRP is £12.99 (same as the black one ) and the description.

http://www.game.co.uk/Xbox360/Hardware/Accessory/~r333471/360-Play-and-Charge-Kit-White/?s=play%20and%20charge

This is the link to the official play and charge kit - with a higher price.

http://www.game.co.uk/Xbox360/Hardware/Accessory/~r331484/Xbox-360-Play-and-Charge-Kit-Black/?s=play%20and%20charge

I could be wrong but, not going to take a chance.
#24
Good price for it!
On a side note, you can charge this using any usb slot on your pc, if you dont have the 360 on.
Also if you plug it in and start charging on the 360, then turn the 360 off with it still connected to the charge kit, it will put the 360 into eco mode and contiune to charge the battery till fully charged, then turn the 360 off!

Doesn't matter, they can be returned for a full refund at your nearest Game store anyway. So wheres the harm in finding out. I cant see how they can state them as being "official" and then send you their own make ones instead, as being good business, but I know sites do make mistakes. So if they do send us their make ones, Ill just take em back to my local. I will take the chance! Thanks OP.
#26
The ones we have ordered are the "official" play and charge kit, surely that means it's a Microsoft product.
#27
this Play & Charge kit IS NOT the official microsoft one it is a cheapo rip off that game have started to stock, dealextreme have them much cheaper if you dont want the official version....

Look at the release date of the product on games site.... Release Date: 27/09/2008

The official elite play & charge was released.... Release Date: 24/08/2007

However I may be wrong but I doubt it....

Hmmm.... at Shopto only found the Battery Pack for £9.29 which obviously works out more expensive 'cause it's without the cable.... (click here), and then the full Play & Charge Kit for £14.18 (click here).

Good deal here. States on the page it's the Official one so there should be no concerns there. For the sake of a few quid sticking a white one on a black controller would look a bit **** anyway

Ordered one for myself at least.

Thanks OP, H&R added.

Still great offer online. Remember you gain a few Game Points and i think you get 9% Quidco.

Just got back from shopping and nipped into Game instore. They sell the unofficial ones for this price.

I appreciate they have possibly made a mistake on their website but, just wanted to warn others that these may not be the official ones.

And I repeat here is the link to the official ones which are priced at £14.99 online and instore.

Thanks for that. Can only but wait and see which ones we get, I spose. If they're their own make ones though they'll be going straight back! Along with an angry email as to how they word stuff on their site!
#34
I'm positive this is for an unofficial one.

I picked up an official one in Game the other day and it had a £9.99 sale sticker on it, when it was scanned at the till it was £14.99. They explained to me that they should have put the stickers on the unofficial ones but they did honour the one I bought for £9.99 without me even asking which I thought was very good of them. The manager then told the other staff to remove all the £9.99 stickers. Looks like there has been a mix up at a number of different game stores.

if you want a black one, otherwise no.

i bought one of these just before xmas for the same price, and the one i received was actually a Gameware one and not an official microsoft one.

Didn't spot that - ahh well if you own an elite works out better to buy it from Game anyway so it matches.

Plus shoptop are out of stock of what you just linked :)
#40
same price on shopto.net i think with uber fast new day delivery for free and teherfore shopto is a better deal.

although its out of stock because i bought the last wireless controller and play and charge kit for a total of £32 for both although now out of stock for other people lol.
