The Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic take the acclaimed Apple iPod Earphones and add a control capsule, located on the cable of the right earpiece, that includes a microphone and three buttons.

Here are some of the things you can do with this convenient remote:

*Adjust the volume by pressing the + and - buttons. *Control music and video playback. *Record voice memos on supported devices. *Answer and end calls.

And... The RRP is £59.99 which makes them just over a quarter of the RRP

Any logical argument for this opinion? Perhaps showing where people might get a cheaper equivalent? If you do then produce it or keep quiet.

Strange but voted hot.

I've been looking for several weeks for a good quality pair of Apple ipod headphones with microphone.

Amazon have a number of compatibles, but the reviews are (at best) very mixed and not worth the risk of wasting £4-12 on them if they turn out to be rubbish and fall apart after a week or two as reported, and some don't have the reemote feature etc.

Amazon sell this as a genuine Apple product for £16.55 but have no Quidco/Topcashback

If I could find a website selling these at a fiver as quoted by djdelmar which have good reviews I would get them, but everyone who has reports that you get what you pay for.

Not sure where you got the RRP from, these are £22 from Apple:

EDIT: I'm guessing you got confused with the In-Ear models, which have dual drivers and much better sound quality that these ones. These are just the standard earphones you get with an iPhone 3GS (which reminds me, I've got a pair to sell!).

COLD, you can get these free from the Apple store.

I've already replaced mines a good 3/4 times. Don't bother paying for it when it costs Apple nothing to replace it for you.

LOL at the OP's £59.99 RRP for these!

Yes a lot of people do not know that Apple just replace these as long as there is no evidence of mistreatment etc.

How many 'dealers have had issue with the official apple headphones?
mine, my daughters, my brother, and of the five people my daughter knows with apple headphones FIVE have had break!!!!
(not that is an issue with regard to them being inherently faulty or anything)

Really?
I've got an iPhone and tbh the earphones have lasted not too bad. Used them quite often though so they probably wont last forever. I'd use my Sennheiser ones in the house but never outside. Always think someone walking about with full over head cans on look totally ridiculous!

Cold for me, I bought instore from John Lewis a few months back for £13.55. Product code is MB770GA and still available online:
http://www.johnlewis.com/230546833/Product.aspx

There's another version, the MA850GA, for £59.99
http://www.johnlewis.com/230546832/Product.aspx - maybe these are the RRP the OP was looking for... these have better noise isolation by the looks of them:

REALLY?! I've never come across any of the Apple shops I've visitted - Exeter, Oxford Circus, Belfast Victoria giving away free headphones.
#16
If you want good sound quality AVOID! Awful for listening to music.
#17
your full of ****! these are 19.99 from apple (which is always more than other retailers) you only ever need one pair as soon as they break apple will replace absolutely no hassle.

YES, they will replace it if they are worn out. The problem is some people may purposely ruin theirs to get a new pair. Just be honest and take replace it for you, book an appointmen.t

Same on the website, although I think you may have to return the faulty pair (after you receive new pair) now.

The support from Apple is fantastic, one of the best companies around. You don't get the same kind of service from Acer, HTC etc
