They've been this price for ages, still a good deal though if you weren't able to get the Sky Pack (which includes a remote) for under a tenner.

Can this be used to control Media Center in Windows 7?

The remote uses IR not the proprietary wireless standard used by the 360 wireless controllers.

It's the same as the standard media centre remotes, so if you've got a receiver for you Windows PC, it'll work fine with that.

Does this control the xbox output volume (hdmi) when watching dvds?

On mine the volume is normal for games, but is MUCH lower when watching dvds.

Will any IR receiver work work does it have to be the Microsoft media centrer one? I have one for a logitec keyboard.
