Good price

I've got too many pads already, but want one of these. How much do Gamestation give for an second-hand pad that works fine but the bumps have worn down on the left stick? :whistling:

Good luck getting games for it! bahaha

mental. ps3 you can just use the same controller for the console as with pc if you have a blu-tooth connection on pc... if not can buy a dongle for £5.

Do these take normal AA batteries as in can I use normal rechargables or am I better buying the wired controller.

Yeah they take normal batteries AA. Come supplied with 2 energizer batteries this pack does.

Yeah but then you have to suffer early 90s ergonomics.

well, if you get this adapter, you can use a 360 pad (most people agree that it is better than the Dualshock3).
& the 360 pad will have native support in GFWL titles.

Great deal. Voted hot. Cheapest wireless receiver I've seen cost about £15, so you are basically paying a fiver for a spare controller (or vice versa - not that you need two wireless receiver, but you could always Ebay it). That said, I don't know what's with the hating PS2/3 controllers. I much prefer the D-Pad on the PS2/3.

Depends on what you are using the pad for, for turn based rpg's and menu scrolling or beat em ups the ps3 pad is superior, for FPS games the 360 pad wins, (though why you would want to use a pad on a PC over KBM would be completely beyond me..) I am just happy using my old ps2 dualshock with the £5 adapter I got from game years ago.

try using the KB&M on Gears & come back to me.

some games just don't feel right with the KB+M combo.

yeah but I wouldn't qualify that as an FPS more a 3rd person shooter, which Is why I got it for the 360 I can see why if you had gears on your pc you would want this pad, but for unreal tournament or pretty much any FPS on the pc and most other pc games KB+M reigns supreme, If you want a pad for mainly playing games on an emulator, I prefer my ps2 pad (I do have a wired 360 pad and for playing emulated games, pre-analogue-stick era using the left stick feels wrong and the dpad can't cope.)

But like I said it all depends on the games you are playing.

Thanks OP, No luck in any of the Edinburgh HMV stores. And a HMV shelf stacker sorry sales guy in Ocean Terminal assured me you can use a Xbox 350 Wireless controller without the receiver on a PC as people have hacked it and his friend has done it,, He told me all about this thing called "open source" and "that's the way things are going" and you can hook the Xbox 360 Wireless controller up via Wifi to a PC, Utter tosh !!! not possible, I did argue with him that it was not possible as Microsoft use proprietary wireless signal for the receiver but I was wrong, No pal you are wrong.

But on a off chance I tried Game Station and they had the same Xbox 360 Wireless Controller and Crossfire Receiver but for £24.99 which is still a good deal.
#31
you can buy 1 of these that works on windows for £24.28 free delivery 4% cashback
#32
I think that is for the wired version not the Wireless Controller and Receiver. GameStattion online the Wired Vesion is £24.45 and Wirless Pack is £39.14, Instore at GameStation is only £24.99 or if you are lucky only £19.99 @ HMV.

indeed but the dualshock dpad is only useful for scrolling menus but when it comes to gaming its the analogs that need to be used anyway.

You missed the point. This is a bundle consisting of the controller and the dongle. The dongle can be bought separately but this is a great way of getting a cheap controller for use on the Xbox 360 also.
